I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE... I'M A EVE JUNKIE AND I ADMIT IT! JUST SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIND A COMPUTER THAT WILL WORK FOR EVE NOW!!!
I'M SHOPPING AT Best Buy.
So please someone take a moment to help me get my fix before I start chewing on the furniture.
Please someone take a moment to click that link, go to the laptops or even the desktops if none of the laptops will fit the bill and leave me a message here. I'm working with about a $600 - $700 budget.
Please... save me from going back to WoW!!!
(alot of those computers have Intel HD Graphics and everything on google says that is junk, does anyone use Intel HD Graphics card???)

I'm sorry but your computer must be this epic to play EVE Online. -------------------------------------------------- I am the Love Angel, Wedding Peach, and I am very displeased by your lack of love! |

Whatever you decide it it must be:
-Shader 3 capable graphics card with physx capability.
-Plenty of ventilation and cooling.
Those two things are a must.
Good luck. ----- A word from John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment -wiki |

i5 2500k = 200U$
gtx 460 1gb = 190U$
4 gb ram = close to 100U$ i think
U$150 lga 1155 motherboard from asrock (or U$200 motherboards from gigabyte)
any reliable PSU at 100U$
=around 750 U$ will run anything.

I don't have a lot of choice where I live unless I want to order it and that's a proble also because we don't have a physical address (small town of 411 people). All we have is a PO Box and only USPS delivers there. I don't have an address that I can trust to send a package this valuable too either so it's best buy, staples, office depot, target or walmart. Those are still 30 miles from me.

First off, DO NOT SHOP FROM BEST BUY. Shop from newegg instead.
Quote: Q: Does Newegg deliver to P.O. Boxes? A: Newegg does not ship to standard P.O. Boxes. However, Newegg can ship to residential P.O. Boxes in rural areas.
Or some other place that specializes in computer gear.
For a 700$ budget, expect horrible EVE performance from a laptop. The "space" parts might be decent, but enter CQ and it's kablammo, the horror.
700$ budget for a desktop, sure, that's perfectly doable. That is, as long as you can select components, not buy a crappy pre-built one with 1 or maybe 2 decent and the rest just junk components.
Yes, intel video is kind of "bleh". At best it might reach a "meh" level. You really want either ATI/AMD or NVIDIA. _

atm I have to advise you to find a better game to play.
You seen the CQ in Mass Effect 2?
My lappy runs that game beautifully & it looks great too but it gets hot running the cr4p CQ in EvE.
With the current direction of EvE & the recent broken promise regarding CQ & reduced immersion, usability, plus additional costs being introduced, EvE just aint worth it IMHO.

I've tried Mass Effect and whew... way off the scale of my interests.
I've spent several years (this is my second go around with eve) building characters. This one is just now where I want him and wham... eve jerks the rug from under my feet.
I agree with what you said though but what else is there? I want what I was doing in EvE. Spaceship flight with stuff that centers around Spaceship flight. I'm not interested in walking around doing guided missions that if you can't finish, you are done with the game. I'm not interested in first person shooters. I want something that you can just go do anything you when you want without having to do one mission after another to open content.
If anyone has another game that has similiar content such as EvE... I'll gladly jump ship (no pun intended haha) and head that way.
Right now, I'm playing a 10 - day WoW trial acct just to keep my mind occupied.

If you however still insist on BestBuy, THIS ONE is the only even remotely acceptable one I could find. BUT IT'S OVERPRICED AND WEAK.
You could build yourself one from newegg components that's much better at roughly the same price. _

I am computer stupid or I wouldn't be asking for this help. I haven't a clue what most of that is you metioned. If I print this out and take it to a computer store will someone there be able to desifer this and put it all in "paper or plastic"?
I can use the internet to figure out how it all goes together (I think). I've got a 1 year old Dell computer case (the components in it got smoked in a lightening storm). I'm guessing it will work?

Yeah, you could, but for a prebuilt system, thats pretty decent price. 719? nice. and since its a desktop he can upgrade the gfx card later
