I propose that for just one week, starting after downtime on the 25th June, we all cease the following in-game activities: -Buying on the marketplace -Selling on the marketplace -Creating or fulfilling contracts -Manufacturing -Mining -PI -Research -Anything that makes the EVE economy work in any way.
If we throw a spanner into the vital organs of EVE's cash cow, then we can have our voices truly heard. People from companies like citigroup will only take notice if they start to lose money. Cancelling subs is one way of doing this, but a true in game protest is another. We will stage the largest virtual protest ever, and show CCP that we do not appreicate being lied to and treated with arrogance and deception.
As I have said, this will begin after tomorrows downtime (25th June). Stand up and be counted.
X up if you're in.

quite frankly I dont understand what you're all raving about either.
What I've picked up so far are: Monocles, Incarna and microtransactions okay so incarna deployed, did you know you can disable it? Did you also know what incarna was JUST deployed? It's bound to be buggy and have multiple unresolved issues. Just like when eve first came out.
Hell it comes out for a week and everyone goes ballistic can someone clear this up?

Read the leaked newsletter and youll see that CCP has no problem going back on their word about microtransactions. theyre "DEBATING" it, but the overtones of reform to change the game mechanics in the future to appeal to a wider casualized audience is obvious. they outgrew their original playerbase, but the possibility of pay2win is just too much of a breach of trust between CCP and its players. their "idgaf we're here to make a profit" response to the entire situation just makes us lose faith in them completely.

Perhaps there should be a broadcast in EVE to some people.
Something like..'Come back to planet Earth.' You know, the real world.
Does anyone not drinking the Koolaid seriously believe that ANY company is not out to make a 'profit' and does'nt have the right to do so?
Come on..think hard.'
Does anyone think the programmers, servers, developers and a host of other overhead costs are payed for in ISK?
If so, may I suggest one has been on the computer too long.
The economy in many countries is tanking..
People are cutting back or buying only what they need.
This is includes 'gaming'.
The competition in gaming is brutal even in good times..now even more competitive.
If a company wants to sell something to stay afloat or even make a profit, that is their business.
And even if they were selling something just to make a buck.
So what?
This is just a game..
Life goes on.
If CCP make any 'mistake' at all, it was giving the players too much input.
The input for gaming is one thing, telling someone how to run their business is another.
So go ahead and shoot your virtual weapons from your virtual spaceships at virtual monuments.
But take a break and come back to planet Earth.
You know, the real world; and read the papers in the financial section on businesses, economy and what it takes to stay afloat.
You might learn something.
