Edited by: Lei Adama on 24/06/2011 12:28:13 As far as the main game and free expansions go we are still pretty much on the same track. However the resent backward steps in openness has left a lot to be desired, I'm sure if the guys from the team in 2004 could see themselves now they would be disgusted with themselves.
Why are we suffering from a very clear attack of the green eyed monster? What exactly was the idea behind the noble shop? How is it there was no option considered for us to for e.g. convert 10,000 lp to 10 of whatever the new currency is. I'll bet ú50 the guys from 2004 would of done that without even thinking about it.
Add to that the backward approach to sov that has transpired in the last few months, and the obvious deaf ears the concerns of the community fell upon, would again disgust the CCP of old. I have never said before I'm considering leaving for one of the games I can play for free with micro transaction market with sensible prices.
Now the fact i have posted should shout louder than my words, because in the last 7 years I have maybe made 10 posts, 9 of which are bids on items. So consider that carefully CCP, unlike those who seem to whine over everything all the time. The people like myself who probably don't even show on anybodies radar making posts of this nature should be the most worrying thing CCP has ever seen.
Now give me a reason to believe the CCP of 2004 are still here somewhere, because ill say this. I won't be posting again anytime soon, that I can foresee, but the response CCP make will decide whether there is a high chance in that happening or not.

Old CCP: We will make this game awesome if we have to code it on typewriters when we are broke!
New CCP: Ahahahaha, you know when we said no pay-for expansions? We lied. Sorta. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

CCP no longer plays this game. They are too busy making WoD, because vampires are waaay cooler then spaceships.

The biggest difference is that in 2004, CCP actually still played the game. They had devs in alliances and CCP employees knew what the gamers wanted because they were in touch with the players.
The T20 incident (which was handled in the WORST possible way) is directly part of the fiasco right now. The CCP lead devs are so out of touch that they come up with things like the $99 devblog and that newsletter.

If this ****storm keeps up much longer (and this isnt just the forums... its all the major gaming websites) then CCP might as well bin all that work. Their time right now is best spent salvaging a crumbling company image and a destruction of their perceived integrity.
I'm not going to make any judgements either way right now. But this kind of press is baaaadd for a subscription based MMO that needs to keep its players to make its money.

Remember when the devs would give call outs to players? Not because they were well known and it was the hip thing to do, but because they knew them. ----------------------
Hope that they'll make this game fun again is the only reason i still play. |

Only way to meet a vampire dude?
Seriously though the frigidness of CCP and those they choose to work with has gotten so bad I caught myself missing stavrok and even insufferable Ifni during AT9 broadcasts, not to mention the rock of 1337ness that was Farjung
CCP you have to find your way again somehow dudes... you are becoming GEEK NERDZ
Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |
