Player A buys PLEX for $$, sells the PLEX for ISK and then buys a carrier
Player B buys PLEX for $$, sells the PLEX for AUR and then buys a dress and spiky boots
It seems like people are more butt hurt over player B and I'm not getting that part. To me buying ships with $$ via PLEX is gross and affects space combat.
Regarding that document, even if there was say a "T4" carrier for AUR, couldn't anyone who wanted one buy PLEX with ISK, then buy AUR with the PLEX?
And how would that be different than if they just bought the "T4" for 50 billion ISK? Since the currency is freely convertable in all directions AUR are to ISK what dollars are to pennys.
Besides the obvious buying PLEX->Ships for RL cash, which has been around for years, I'm not getting the issue.
My math says there is no issue besides the old issue?

If a RL player wants to spend RL money to buy internet fake stuff let him... as long as CCP has a way for the MAJORITY of the player base using isk I'm cool with it. I'm not new to the game I been around for a long time, I have plenty of isk and expensive play things to enjoy this game... I dont foresee myself purchasing vanity items to make me purty unless they develop a Hello Kitty jump suit. However I "may" spend several billion iskies on a cool looking and functional ship that could be used in highsec, lowsec and nullsec.

The only issue is that a player didn't build that "T4" ship in the shop.

Do you really need it spelled out?
Problems with Player B:
There is no player industry to create that dress, like there is with a carrier. To make a carrier you need to mine minerals, haul minerals, research a blueprint, manufacture the blueprint, market and sell the finished carrier. The dress just kind of pops out of ccp.
There is no supply and demand for dresses, they are given away to anybody with the cash, so there is essentially unlimited supply, anywhere in the game world that has a station.
It takes developer time to model a new dress for dress up barbie, instead of modeling a new ship, or getting back engine trails.
Once they start adding gameplay affecting MT (Which they plan to do in the newsletter), it's going to become more or less pay to win. If you want to win, you have to pay CCP. And it also starts affecting game balance, what if dramiels can only be bought with AUR tomorrow, do you think they would nerf them, or would drams stay the best frigate?
A lot of the rage is over the newsletter (And the idiotic opinions expressed there), statement that CQ will not be optional in the future, and the prices, not the fact there is MT.
CCP not responding to the playerbase, and permabanning players is not helping either. |

You're misrepresenting the complaint. Very few people care about the purchase of vanity items. Please take a moment to inform yourself of the actual issues before proceeding further.

To be honest there isn't much they can say that will make the situation better. If they cared what we thought or where only giving MT consideration they would have mentioned this earlier/in more detail to guage the reactions. Their methods here indicate that this has been coming for quite some time and they are going to just let it go until the angry people get tired and the people that would keep them motivated to be angry get singled out and banned.
As for me I only feel screwed because they are driving the price of plex up.

other then the CQ issues, currently the MT is fine, but they said they plan on selling things such as faction standings and ubersecret ammo in the MT shop, its like the loyalty shop but instead of missions u open your RL wallet.
