Im still waiting for this -> "Weæll continue monitoring the forums and other communications channels and pick up and reply if there are concerns not covered by this blog."
There are tons of stuff to reply to...and yet all we get is silence and leaked stuff.

I ran out of room.
As I was saying that customer base is not going to show the dedication that their current customer base does. I haven't played that long myself, only a few years. But I had settled in for the long haul. Now based off of the replys I have seen from CCP or lack there of. I may find a different mmo to play. I am not a fan of the thought that some kid could come into the game and be able to fly a fully t2 fitted BS or any uber ship. I put time into the game to get where I am at. As many other ppl have, and as many ppl have stated, we want an answer. A real answer and not a dev giving a vague statement that says they know our issues and nothing more... we know what our concerns are. If we want someone to repost it, we can do that ourselves.
Please don't take this as rage. I am simply explaining my view and would love to have an answer.
P.S. you may have done more damage to yourselves by acknowledgeing that the leak was real and claiming it was a "theory" then a plan. Because anything that could be listed as a thoery could become a real plan at some point. You would have been better off simply dening it all together, considering you have already destoryed the trust of your customers.. why start being somewhat honest about that now of all times? I urge you, no beg you please let us know if you plan on putting things other than vanity items in the shop!

Edited by: Xavier Castle on 25/06/2011 19:03:38 That is the worst thing i ever read in a Dev Blog, all CCP did was insult us. Its not us, its you CCP... Its outrageous, all this new content that is out of reach of most of us. You seem to be creating an even bigger "****storm". There are many people like me who never use the forums, who just play peacefully with a few friends... and now i'm forced for the 2nd time in a week to post.
I pay every month for you to run and develop eve online, not for you to develop other games and items that must be bought on top of that.

This still doesn't address the issues I brought up in my subscription cancellation reason, nor does it address the issues brought up in the huge threadnaughts we've had regarding this joke of an "expansion".
It's insulting, the tone is condescending and this devblog should have been left to someone who knows how to interact with their customers rather than just their subordinates.
Do your damn job CCP and get real.

So that's it? No answer to the main big concerns people is writing in big colored letters?
So sad to see this game go down due to the company behind it not respecting their customers.

I have to agree with this on many levels... the fact is (as Sabrina so eloquently stated) that a player can in fact buy game changing advantages with an RMT, I.E. buy GTC, convert to plex, sell plex, get uber stuffs....
You apparently do not understand economics on anything other than a very basic level.
While I may be mistaken, that answer/comment leads me to believe that you apparently did not read, understand, or grasp the concept and meaning of my post.
In any case, the response is appreciated nonetheless.
Thanks K.S.

I think I can answer that for you.
Selling vanity only items (even at dumb prices) will only net you so much money, not everyone is willing to buy them. The vanity items are also not cheap to design, model and implement, and vanity must be feed and updated continuously. CCP's 6+ month lead time on making 1-2 new models/shirts/accessories would rendered the vanity only NeX store a joke eventually.
The only thing they could sell consistently in NeX is pay-to-win things. After that happens, its just a matter of how fast things go down hill.
But there is more.
The funny thing about most pay-to-win items is they have basically ZERO development cost. Add SP? Probably 10 lines of code to add points to the system already in place. Gold ammo? Take faction ammo, pallet shift the icon, adjust stats and you are done. Same with modules, BPCs and implants.
Vanity ships, or 'custom' paintjobs and logos will take more work, they've been requested forever and now that greed and a cracking whip are in full command, you'll see them very soon.
Pay-to-win items are just too easy, and too (short term) lucrative for the 'Greed is Good' mentality of CCP to pass up.
CCP will not come out and say directly "Yes non-vanity items will be sold." because they are trying to be subtle on this (and only this it seems). String people along, slowly ease 'innocent' pay-to-win items in the store, and hope people are blind enough to not only pay a subscription, but also pay out the nose for items all but required to play the game.
IS CCP moving beyond aurum-for-vanity items? Yes, at full speed.

I would really dislike MTs going into the everyday items that are available through EVE. That said, the EVE economy will either accept it or reject it, just like every other change that has taken place throughout the years.
Why is there such a swell of discontent? Within the next twelve months we are about to be part of an extraordinary evolution of the game both inside and outside. We're seeing the next steps to assuring the game will live on for many more years to come, today, on our consoles. Isn't that what the majority of us want?

Couldn't care less about the prices of some clothing items since this is a space ship game and in my mind I don't need a monocle to run my space affairs. Price them as much PLEX as you want I don't care.
I however care that I am forced to either use the new CQ or some rather unimpressive screenshot of a door when docking in a station. I realize that CQ is in its first iteration but frankly its ****. The controls are ****, there is no value in using it and it does not add an ounce of value to my experience of playing the game. And for the record there is no awe factor in looking at the ships floating in the hangers. My Buzzard looks way better than my Raven for instance.
And thus I have cancelled my subscription (ending 10th of July) and will not be returning until I see some actual improvement of the SPACE aspect of the game. We do not want or need more fluff in the game. We that have been playing since '03 have not been doing so because of the promise of looking at our new leather jackets in a station in a few years.
Don't take it the wrong way though, I look forward to the day when EVE is this whole space opera all-in-one science fiction experience where I can fly a spaceship, manage sov, walk in a station down a shopping street, stop at a bar and do some wagering, take a bounty hunting contract in a scummbarÖ some where, hop onto a planet and do some FPS and maybe in a station as well. But you [CCP] have to introduce these things to the player base with more information flow and explain your actions BEFORE we experience them in game. Explain why you do the things you do in an upcoming expansion. Everything you do. Its like when you learn to design a UI you are taught that you, as a designer, can never take it for granted that the user will understand how to use the UI that you design just because you think it is pretty straight forward and in the words of CCP Zulu "the greatest thing since sliced bread".
And never ever ever ever force us to use or do something in a radically different way than we have been used to doing things for the past 8 years just because you want us to [read: CQ]. Give us options.
And now I'm off to play some of the FtP games that have been released on an game platform that shall not be named here. Will be keeping an eye on how CCP tackles the issue (or doesn't).

Edited by: Trig Onami on 25/06/2011 19:42:09 Stay Fearless, CCP. Like 42,000 other people, I actually played the game yesterday. I started souping up my Gallente Hottie so she can do some Station interaction in the Future. Look forward to that. I doubt I will ever use the AUR store, but at least it will be there when I am rich again. Maybe for a Stripper Pole... and a Paint Job on my Drake... sounds cool to me.
Obviously some people can't handle the truth. I'm sure that the 5 clothing items on the ISK market will sell some day. Just not today :)
Let's wait it out together.

CCP Zulu .. YOU MISSED THE WHOLE POINT OF OUR RAGE.
Here are a couple questions for CCP, since a lot of their decisions seem to be based on "metrics" and apparently they have sold 50 monacles in 40 hours (which makes them a success)
1) how many people have turned off the Captains Quarters since Incarna launched ? 2) how many subscriptions have been cancelled since Incana launched ?
I'll purchase a monacle if you tell us.

Well, I dont post much on these forums but, quite honestly, enough is enough.
I've been subbed to Eve pretty much from day 1. (2-3 accounts)
I've spent the last few hours staring at the cancel sub screen - trying to grow a pair and actually cancel.
Well I have and so have around 90% of my long time friends in game and in RL. (at a guess somewhere between 40 and 60 accounts)
Unless you (CCP) sort your **** out and start communicating and listening to your customers - we wont be back.
Such a sad day .
