I know this is probably one of those 'oh duh' things, but I can't figure out for the life of me how to get into lvl 2 missions. I finished the Sisters arc, then when I go to the agent finder, it only pulls up lvl 1 agents. I even set the filter to find lvl 2 agents and it says there are none available.
I mean lvl 1 missions are okay, but I'm one-shotting everything in my Omen and salvaging with my second account. I'm ready for lvl 2's I think.

AFAIK you just do lv1's for until you have enough standing to do lv2's for that faction.
If you already know that, try narrowing the Agent Finder down to just your faction, and move the slider to lv2... some factions don't have lv2 agents.
I started out doing missions for Yutai or something like that and got real impatient when she didn't introduce me to anyone and no new agents showed up in the finder. Set it to show all only to find that there was no actual lv2 Agent for them! Started over with Hyatsuda just before going to work (Where I am now) tonight... hopefully do some 2's later this weekend.

yeah thats what I did, i set the slider to level 2 and put 'any' in the other search filters. Nothing, I guess I just haven't done enough yet. Thats fine, at least now I know I have to keep going. I felt like I was spinning my wheels there when I wasn't sure.
Thanks for the reply.

I don't think you ever unlock level 2's in a general sense. Rather you have to do lv1 missions for the same faction to gain standing, then it'll open up lv2's for JUST that faction. Possibly with their allies as well, I don't know.
Find a contact that is factional like 'Hyatsuda' or 'Khanid Navy' not a tutorial or story agent. Then set the filter to lv2, that faction, and turn on 'show unavailable' and make sure there are lv2 Agents for that faction somewhere for you to unlock, and eventually they'll flip to available with enough standing I think.

You might be making the mistake i did & that was to move stations with the agents & mission that come up, meaning your raising your standing with all sorts of corps.
Find a station with plenty of lv1 agents in them & grind those mission, it will soon open up lv2 & 3's

Edited by: Zachary Dellinger on 25/06/2011 04:48:59 Check your general standing. If it is not what is required by the agent info tab for said level 2 agents, you will not be able to use said agents. You will need either corporate standing or faction standing to use said agents. Grinding level 1 agents, raising connections / diplomacy, and even social will help you along your way to getting better agents as you progress in the game.
EDIT: Make sure, as well, that when you're working with a corporation, they have the type of missions you want to run. You'll want to run said corporation's missions fairly exclusively to get your standing up; working with several corporations and factions at one time will make it seem like you're trapped in level 1s forever.

You need a standing with the agents corp of more than 1 to get L2 mishs & a standing with the agents race of no less than -2 iirc. I think the standings go,
L2 - 1+ standing. L3 - 3+ standing. L4 - 5+ standing. L5 - 7+ standing.
1,3,5,7. Easy to remember. Just keep plugging away & remember to do the storyline mishs when offered as they give a big standing increase & some nice goodies too

I'm not sure I understand the problem. The online agent finders should show all agents. matching the parameters you put in. You said it doesn't show any agents. Do you mean that it doesn't show any agents that you have high enough standings to work for?
If that is the case, aside from grinding missions you need to train the Connections skill (requires the Social skill at alevel 3.). With Connections at Level 3, you should have high enough corporate standings to be able to move to Level 2 agent after you finish your first Level 1 for that corp.
(The Negotiation skill increases the amount of ISk/LPs that you get from agents for your missions.)
Don't get the three types of standings mixed up. Low Concord standings will keep you out of all areas where Hi Sec agents can be found. Low faction standings will do the same for that faction's regions. Low corporate standings really only affect agent availability.
Be careful with story line missions. Many people don't run them because raising your standings with one faction decreases you standings with the factions on the other side of the Amarr/Minmatar dividing line. For instance, a storyline mission raises your Amarr faction standings. If you then check your Minmatar faction standings you will find that they have dropped.
Also, any time you take a mission that requires shooting at a faction's navy, your standings with that faction will drop a small amount for each one you kill.
For instance, if your Minmatar faction standings get below -4.9, you can't enter Minmatar space without either getting warnings, or shot at by the faction police.

I have a question related to that: I'm one-shotting everything in Level1 missions, but in the few Level 2 missions I tried, I get my ships blown into pieces in no time. Obviously I'm missing something very obvious, ore is there really such a large gab between Level 1 & 2?

There is a large gap, but it should be manageable. In level 2 missions you'll have to pay more attention to your ship's tank and (in some missions) to the order in which you shoot the targets.

Thanks. I plugged in some stringer shield extension and -boosters and was able to kill all the bad guys after warping out twice. btw. does the game penalize in kind of way players that warp out of an encounter and warp in again with fresh shields?

The penalty is that it takes a lot of time; other than that there's no penalty (as long as you remain within the mission's time limit).

Edited by: Angela Spears on 26/06/2011 10:34:32 Edited by: Angela Spears on 26/06/2011 10:32:28 Yeah, I'm sitting at 2.3 standing with Zoar and Sons faction. I guess they have no level 2 missions because there is still nothing of level 2 I can get. I'll look up another faction with level 2's and find the level 1 missions of the same faction and grind those for a bit.
*Well shoot, Zoar and Sons do offer lvl2 missions. My standing with them is 2.3, I'm not sure why their not offering them yet.
**Wait a sec, my standing with the agent says 2.3, but when I look at my standing for Zoar and sons it's at .22. Is that the problem?

Yes, that will be the problem. Your standing for Zoar and sons will have to be equal to, or more than, of the standing required for the level 2 agent.

If you finished the sisters arc you probably have higher standings with the empire you picked before the final mission. I went with minmatar and found a L2 security agent from minmatar mining corp pretty much right away and I have not trained my social skills yet (probably a dumb thing right there - gotta get around to it).
