Some sort of purchasable item that would show in the captains quarters like "academic node" or something. Would possibly have different versions that would let slow down training 20% or w/e but allow all to train, or possibly increase speed. Could be implemented like plex, bought and then sold.
First idea i ahve posted, would like to hear opinions/suggestions and maybe something about technical limitations?

I think the problem with this is the way they have it setup now your paying for the skills basicly if they did that then sure the first time you bought it it would all balance out but unless they made it a monthly thing like subs then you would be getting 3 months of skills for 1 month of payment and if they made it monthly then its points less when i could go buy 2 more accounts and have 9 chars to do other things like scout and cyno.
However i do think they should let us train one all 3 as i would like to pay for the game not my skills :)

12,500,000 Aur for +1 account slot training.
I should join CCP... I know how to price stuff... I know you'd all lap up the +1 training slot at that price.

Would that 12,500,000 Aur be for 1 month or permanent? I would like option to buy remapping of attributes to go with it.

-1: For training them all at ones at the same training speed. ( This should never be implemented )
+1: For having the option to split training time over all the alts. ( This should mean training at 50% speed over 2 characters and 33% speed over all 3 characters )

I have no money for two accounts and I think that this solution is best. [i]-Safe the Carebears/i] |

This i do agree with. Keeps it balanced and flexible for the user.

Edited by: Kinta Huron on 28/06/2011 12:55:36 Being able to train extra characters on one account by means of purchasable upgraded character slots is a great idea but, splitting training time across alts is ****ing stupid I will not waist my money on such a thing.

The way I read it was that if your only skill training on one character, that gets a 100% training time. If your doing it on more than one, then its divided accordingly. It wouldn't be permanently 33% per character, only if all 3 was training something. |

What I don't like about that particular idea is the mindset that, for every positive thing there has to be a negative, and while this may be necessary to maintain some balance in other areas of the game I don't think it's needed here, Just selling upgradeable character slots and leaving it at just that would be fine people would be happier that way.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate and say I like that only one toon can train at a time in Eve. The reason for me is, that without classes in the game, the only reason to have an alt is as a form of exploit- as only in a game can you have an entire intelligent entity as a slave totally dedicated to the welfare of a 'main' toon. If there were classes, you could justify alts for trying out the other types of toon. But in Eve, anyone can do anything in the game. In a game, there is no morality issue with using some 'disposable' being to scout dangerous areas or slave away in some manufacturing role created solely for the benefit of another toon. To me (within the confines of Eve's skill system) it's just an exploit. So is running a second account or having two computers running to play one game. I mean, it's a game. And- the game's intent was to replicate a real life (RPG after all) in space. When you have multiple being sharing one brain to achieve success (usually for just one of those beings) then IMO, you've completely missed the point of the game. I know- some people get more out of beating the numbers in a game more than the game itself. If it's your thing, fine. But I don't think the game should cater to that. If you want to have a slave jump ahead of his 'master' and take that bullet, then having to pay for a second acct sounds reasonable to me. I only have one toon in Eve, and interact with other players (shockingly, in an MMO) to 'live' a life of a capsuleer- as the game is intended to provide.
