Since many people are reporting issues with downloading the Windows installer, I've prepared some metalinks that should allow you to acquire the payloads without corruption issues. The following metalinks are available:
Full Installer:
Individual payloads:
Metalinks can be handled by most modern download tools. You can see a full list of applications which support metalinks here.

Just open the meta link with a Download Manager which is supporting it (like DownThemAll!) and it will download all necessary files for you which includes checking it for corruption. __________________________ CCP Sputnik CCP Core Infrastructure Software Engineer

I'm downloading the offline installer file eveonline_271273_1of2.7z from the installer link from the eve website. not the forum as you only posted this 2 hours ago. I'm using mozilla firefox and windows vista ultimate service pack 2. Download tool seems to be Firefox by default and everyhting seems to be going ok. Fingers crossed

Right downloading the offline links using Mozilla and DownThemAll installed.. lets see if this works finally - another 2 hours waiting time :(

I suppose you don't have an individual payload file those of us who aren't stuck in the 1990's could just save to desktop and run?
I mean, GetRight? Seriously?

What program are people using?
I've tried both free download manager and getright, neither is recognising .meta4 files...

So I downloaded the file with Free Download Manager, but now what? How do I install it? I have never used this before and have no idea what I am doing. There needs to be a better set of instruction other than what was provided in the original post to this thread.

Not everyone's as brilliant as I am.
As I am not that intelligent, I need my hand held on how to use the download manager to counter the corrupted file issue I keep encountering. No, I am not being sarcastic.

Im not intelligent either.
I see..
Three downloads..
Installer. and two large files.
I know it's supposed to go to the same directory.
After that what?
2. Do I unzipp both files?
3. Do I click the installer and the installer god does it?
The $10,000 question really is, why can't I just click the Windows download icon and download and install it without jumping through hoops?
Why do I have to download three files now without any instructions and no tech support and I'm paying $14.99 a month?
I'm beginning to think this game is not ready for prime time.

The checksums of the download didn't match. The download has partial checksums, which allow to recover the download by only retrying the parts that are corrupt. It is not recommended to use the downloaded data as is. What would you like to do with the downloaded file?
That's what I get after downloading the full install... I'm using downloadthemall. Do I keep or recover the checksums??

Currently redownloading, will see what happens (not hopeful tho)
Used DownThemAll as well.

Really? If you know you have a problem with the regular downloader, why the F don't you fix it? It sure beats this dog and pony show that you have going right now. Is someone there ******ed or am I dreaming all this? Here I am trying to download the client to a new computer, and it doesn't even work? If you knew Incarna was going to be this terrible, why the hell did you release it? /rant
Ok seriously, having to download a ton of crap just to get an installer to work might be a sign that you have giant radioactive mutant bugs running amok in your system. Hope you have a good exterminator 404 Error, Sig not found. Retry? Cancel? REBOOT EVE? |

I recently built a pc with a better graphics card and cpu with the sole purpose of being able to enjoy Incarna. Sadly I am having the same issue as many with corrupted files and the repair tool not working. I am not familiar with metalinks or how they work so the brief description at the beginning of this thread has not been much help. I have installed multiple download managers, and while they do download the file, I have no clue as to the next step. I really want to play this game, but if CCP will not address this issue soon I will be forced to cancel my subscription. I would really like to hear from someone with the technical expertise in this matter or better yet a more comprehensive guide on resolving this issue.

i re-installed windows recently (it was long overdue) and it has been a extremely difficult to get eve up and running again, ive tried the online installer (downloaded files nof found) tried the offline installer (broken. corrupted files) and im now trying downloading with downthemall. one file has already failed however.
who do you have to host these files CCP? i would expect that this would be a high priority for you as a business because if people cant get the cleint, they cant play eve and you lose customers.
i really like eve, and i dont want to lose out on what ive built up in it, however, i cant afford to pay for services that are not being rendered. i also have a pretty restrictive download limit on my ISP and as such i cant download the client 5 or 6 times at 4.5 Gb a time.
please get onto your host (Georgia is it?) and tell them to stop losing your money and clents. They arent up to the job. not even close.
2 subs cancelled until you sort this client download out

I had corrupt files while downloading in Win7 x64 Ultimate. I started with the regular installer, and came onto the issue. I then tried manual http download of the 3 separate files and there was corruption again, and that repair utility linked somewhere on the board by a dev was no use.
Using the DownThemAll! manager I downloaded the 3 separate files. During download a each of the large .7z files had a few errors, and asked me what I wanted to do. I told it to download the parts again, and it seemingly did, didn't finish the download with any warnings anyway. But those .7z downloaded through the manager in Win7 x64 were also corrupt (failed 7zip test).
On the same system I have an older partition with WinXP x32 installed, so I booted to that (same hardware platform) and downloaded the files using the download manager. This proved successfull when checking the .7z with a test. The installer exe was not checked but was downloaded here.
Back to the Win7 machine, I copied the .7z into the programdata directory that they were expected to be in, and ran the installer that was last downloaded. The installer came to the same stopping point "2/3 Verifying...blah". At this point I ran another set of .7zip tests on the files, the two I was using passed as did their original copies on the winXP partition. -Without any other changes I ran the installer again, and it succeeded.-
I'm not sure what the cause of the problem is here, before I left the XP partition I downloaded a 400MB test file to compare MD5s against, and the Win7 downloaded file was identical so this problem might be isolated. I did some reading and people have been guessing at ram instability, virus scanner problems, and even routers causing corrupt files. I can't see any of these in my case though as I don't otherwise have instability.

There is something wrong with the .exe file when I try to down load it with the offline installer. It is the one causing the fail. I am currently trying the meta file and so far the .exe worked fine so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Saw this post & tried it.
Was running Google Chrome so had to DL & install the latest Firefox just to get DownLoadThemAll plugin
Just clicked on the Full installer Full Installer: Incarna Installer (.exe and 2 payloads)
It downloaded fine, moved the files to the HD that I was to install into ran the exe and it worked fine.
Didnt do anything else out of the ordinary

Well I just tried this again even though I've installed already. I updated my network card driver using the driver at my motherboard manufacturers website. Prior to this I had the windows update driver installed. I did a download using DownThemAll! but in this case it didn't find any errors, and the 7zip test passed also. I'm hoping the network card driver was the problem. There are CRC checks that can be offloaded to the network card from the cpu, and if the driver is bad I'm thinking these might be causing the problems.

Tried downloading the full install using DownloadThemAll! but I had that box pop up telling me to either recover or keep checksums. Re-downloaded them but it failed. Currently downloading OS updates including a service pack that may be the problem... |

I'm still having problems with this, since the patch released about 2 weeks ago i've not been able to use eve, I can't even download it as per the OP's instructions. I'm using DownloadThemAll to fetch the files but it fails every time when verifying and trying to fix/recover the files just fails. I created a petition a week ago now and not had a response, getting seriously cheesed off! CCP, please help me sort this out! |

Are you on win 7 64 bit (or another 64 bit OS) also? I'm wondering if this is the problem. I found similar problems for a game called rift http://tinyurl.com/6kfpblf (threadname: 'corrupt files on win 7 64 bit')
In my case I was able to download the installer files on another 'machine' (same machine but under stable WinXP 32 bit), so you might get a friend, or someone at work or school to download it for you, and put it on a DVD or two to bring to your machine for install. Otherwise it looks like there is a problem somewhere in the OS/driver level and probably not the content distributor for the files. |

From the look of things, download manager doesn't fare any better because of download corruption. A suggestion to the CCP. Why have you not consider bittorent to distribute your software. This way you can ensure better transfer for large files with minimum error. Bittorent had built in checksum so there is little chance for error. It also makes downloading your stupid-ass humongous files easier since its frustracting wasting 12hrs downloading to 99% to have your server terminate my download connection, corrupting the files, forcing us to redownload that humongous files again.......sorry my temper get the better of me....I apologize.
Its frustating for normal user just to start playing your games when you make it so hard to dowload and install it. Why can't you make it simpler. We are not all computer whiz u know. |
