CCP, thank you for introducing the monocle to the game.
We can all agree that the existing monocle is helpful in differentiating poor players from elite players, however there is a legitimate concern that the monocle is within the grasp of too many 'average' eve players - people may, for example, save up for a carrier but buy the monocle instead.
This will harm monocle sales, as elite players are put off by what could become a 'common' accessory. I would therefore urge to to introduce an 'elite monocle' (call it what you will), which should be available for the equivalent of not less than 10bn ISK.
Also, can I please request that the monocle looks different enough for people to be able to tell it apart from the existing monocle from a quick look at a character thumbnail.
The true elite of eve deserve something which reflects our status, and is firmly out of the reach of 'average' players.
Thank you for listening. This is not a troll - there would be a market for elite monocles.

I for one welcome this idea too the *Elite Monocle set* should come with an awesome golden amarrian chain linking it to the chest (we don't want to lose it if something grievous happens if the nasty peasant smelly struck us) and an awesome Top hat
P.S: i refuse to buy a monocle until CCP adds Lorgnette for us the elitist ladies.

I agree, it is very off putting knowing so many pointless / poor people have gotten a monocle, maybe the current monocle is a T1 version and a T2 version will be available in the next few months. .

Not really dog, the sashimi I had for lunch was more expensive than a monocles twice its price - but I didn't get where I am today buying monocles - a heathy respect for money is the first step toward accumulating it.

It's an excellent idea. Just like tattoos. I want to be able to ascertain immediately what level of person I am dealing with. Give me the opportunity to make swift appraisals of just how much, shall we say, "better" a person is than I am. Make it so.

Serious point to this serious point.
I have no problem at all with CCP introducing the most gauche, outrageous and ridiculously expensive VANITY items. Why shouldn't the rich show off their work within the game? If you want it and can't afford it you'll have to work for it.
But most importantly, if CCP can get the filthy lucre they need for Dust and WoD from these VANITY items then they will have no need to introduce game changing items such as MT for skill points etc.
In a way, by buying these silly pea**** feathers the rich players are protecting the game from game changing exploitation and that it quite win when you think about it.

Let me ask you..It never dawned on you that the crude monocle you are wearing- yes the one sticking out from you face- was designed for people who wish to be seen among the true aristocrats but who doesn't have enough sense to realize that it is obvious that they don't belong there?

In this industry we call such players: peac.ocks
Noun: a vain, self-conscious person. Verb: to make a vainglorious display; strut like a peac.ock.
So there you go strut like a peac.ock, ahahahaha... BTW on average peac.ocks make 1-2% of game population. So that would mean 3-6k monocles sold. So not that special you see...

Not true. Having money to waste is not the same of being elite.

And you consider yourself elite? You are pathetic, it should be no less than 100 Billion isks.

I support this motion. More exclusivity for the wealthy and optically challenged elite of EvE.
I rather fear that my current economic predicament precludes me from indulging in such fancies however those who have a mind to do so should be free to indulge.

I totally agree :)
My best suggestion is a 350b isk monocle that gives another +2 or +3 to all attributes. That way the like of the new slightly poor elite (Bitter dog and surfing plunderpanda) will likely not have the isk to buy one.
It would also serve as a great isk sink

On the contrary, it should only be wearable by people with +30 charisma. Surely nobody else would be able to pull off wearing such a fine item... |
