Edited by: Ahn Riane on 07/07/2011 21:08:37 Acting with emphasis on maximising ISK revenues is not the only valid approach to EVE. I know this often appears strange to MD residents. Some people like to fly ships, they have build by themself, with materials gained by themself. They may even know, that just buying the ship, would have cost them less ISK. But they dont care. They buy a plus of immersion for that "wasted" ISK.

That's all fine and dandy if they do that only for themselves. The main problem is people crashing markets with their 'do it yourself' methods. |

Option #1 Get FREE data cores over time. Sell data cores as they acrue. Profit = 200k isk/data core
Option #2 Get FREE data cores over time. Buy supplies to build T2 items fo X isk. Sell T2 items for Y isk. X > Y or you're really dumb. X + 200k * Data Cores Used < Y and you've acheived a slightly different fail state. Profit < 200K isk/data core
Option #1 is easier than option #2. If taking option #1 is also more profitable than option #2 than someone purely seeking profit would never take option #2. Option #2 would be for people who got some kind of strange kick out of building T2 items. |

But the problem is yours, not theirs. Someone crashing the market is just a game mechanic. And this can make others (like my station trading alt) a handsome profit. So it's actually my gain and your loss.
Which is what I love about this game.

I'm just going to go with the easy one and say that something is only worth what someone alse will pay for it.
Is it a rock? Point a Lazer at it and profit. Is it a ship? Point a Lazer at it and profit. I dont realy see any differnces here. |
