Dear the Monocleers of Crime & Punishment who seem happy with themselves. I actually would like to thank you all for bringing me back down to reality via the sustained use of the word Peasant to refer to those who do not have the means to or chose not to sport Eve Vanity. You see with 13 years of Private Education, a 1st Class University Degree and a Rich Family behind me life has so far not been hard for me. Trust me playing Eve on my ú3k Custom Built PC with 4 clients all Highest Settings with Station Environment loaded running smoothly while some of you, no doubt with Monocles in Game whine about what happens when you currently run one eve client gives me sleepless nights. This amidst, the fact that at 31, I reside in a posh outright owned modern flat in close proximity to the city centre with visibility of one of Europe's most prominent skylines, do my daily food shopping in Waitrose and consume fine wine each night which costs more daily than the monthly subscription to play eve. No doubt some of you sporting Monocles will be reading this and having flashbacks to the beatings papa gave you and how your soiled bed sheets were never changed. Thus I enjoy as part of rabble being referred to by C&P Monocle wearers as a Peasant It is somewhat ironic since some of you will never experience some of the pleasantries that I enjoy on a daily basis, nor probably knew what a Monocle was prior to this delightful expansion. Could I buy Monocles yes - do I want to, no. Now if the money that you were spending on Eve Vanity was rechanneled into Eve development then I would have no problem - but it is very likely not. Your Monocle monies is paying for a game you will probably never play at the expense of a game you do play. Fools follow fools and every time I am referred to as a Peasant in Eve, i laugh and imagine that in real life you are a pizza delivery man who now lives in your Grans' old Caravan after she passed away aged 45 from lack of nutrition and many misspent social security payments.

Sir, clearly you are not wealthy at all and I applaud your attempt to sound convincing. I must inquire though as to why you must present this to me in a wall of italic text?
Surely your first class university degree in bologna should have taught you proper paragraph usage, I learned how to use paragraphs shortly after my first time riding a horse when I was 5

I did the wall of italic text intentionally to make the thread harder to read and thus out of spite since your vanity item did sfa to help you read it did it?

The difference between a 10 grand pc and a 3 grand pc is quite frankly nominal and not worth the extra ú/performance ratio. Again it's vanity. But the poor people here pretending to be rich is comical.

It was just as hard to read with plain eye, as with a monocle.
I have demonstrated quite fiendishly that C&P Monocle pomp and fanfare is moot and they are no better than you while still beneath me in society and standings.

Dear peasant, you should not be speaking of history. Your vocational school curriculum did not include history. Operating pitchforks does not require such knowledge.
Furthermore, your feeble attempt to offend us has been reported to the Authorities. Expect a ban from these fine channels of communication, intended for your betters in the first place.

This wall of italicized pomp only helped me realize how happy I am to have been raised by a proper southern american family. We had the arrogant rich thrown out in the 1860s and those with wealth since have learned to treat others with equal respect. Mostly because we're only a few generations into it ourselves. Our grandfathers remember what it's like to struggle and have passed those lessons on to our parents, and they passed it on to their children.
Where I'm from how you spend your money is your own business. And parading your "social status" and wealth in the working man's face is a virtually guaranteed financial suicide. It's certainly a fast ticket to being exiled from proper society. If anything being born into privilege only serves to make it harder to prove your worth, as it should be imho.
Either way, this is a post that clearly demonstrates you have serious problems equating wealth to the quality of a person. Ideas that only remain in the ignorant peoples of civilized places. The only group of people you can easily be identified as being among.
These are lessons that should have been taught in anything from ancient history and philosophy to business ethics. Looks like all those private schooling monies would have been better spent on a few eve monocles.
Good luck, please never move to Texas, Louisiana, or Georgia. You'd be hated vehemently. Not for your wealth, mind you, but for your attitude. |

Since CCP have created a mechanic whereby it seems okay for players with monocles to discriminate against other players who do not have monocles by calling them peasants, since everyone it seems is entitled to their opinion I take it it's okay for me to discriminate myself and say that in European terms Iceland is a peasant country and in game developer terms CCP is also a peasant?
Please clarify CCP as I am sure you don't like being discriminated against by being referred to as a peasant - but nor do I.

Ahhh I see during my absence that our club has been festooned with new members and as our ranks swell, so then does my sense of camaraderie with those properly bespectacled. I bid welcome to our new members. After reading the posts of the commoners and comparing them to posts by Monocleers, it is evident that the benefits of the Monoclery are immediate and far reaching.
I post here in hopes of acquiring the help and support of the Monocleers in my attempt to form a coalition of Looking Glass bearers in an effort to ensure we will be able to provide some bread and circuses to the peasantry. This will be accomplished namely through hosting a proper version of Hulkageddon. As members of the nobility, it is our duty to provide the commoners with some distraction from their toil and tasks. After the lowly farmers have completed the Harvest, I believe we should allow them some chance at this contest and may even elevate one of their number to the aristocracy be bestowing a monocle as Hulkageddon Prize.
Please assist me in this noble cause by showing your communal support in This Thread If as Monocleers, we host an enjoyable contest, it should quell some of the peasant unrest and allow us to extract more taxes in our various Fiefdoms.

Since when has $15 wine been considered fine?
Peasant irl? No. Middle class? Most likely.

Originally by: Surfin's PlunderBunny Sir, clearly you are not wealthy at all and I applaud your attempt to sound convincing. I must inquire though as to why you must present this to me in a wall of italic text?
Surely your first class university degree in bologna should have taught you proper paragraph usage, I learned how to use paragraphs shortly after my first time riding a horse when I was 5
i like the monocle, i really do, but i think your old avatar was far superior in all aspects.

Sorry, I was meaning UK Pound.
When you say middle class, hell i agree I am no Prince Harry - for one my skin is Black.
So ú15 pound daily (dont work so no tax to consider) = close to ú500 monthly - given your point but all else considered will re-evaluate and indeed value my self worth at middle - high class.
How many bottles of Penfolds the Grange have you sunk so far in your life kappas?
If you have tippled one of Australias finest please tell me which vintage of the last twenty years you consider to be the best.

I would say upper-middle class best describes you. I doubt anyone higher than that would be bragging about the ú500 they spend monthly on wine in a gaming forum or anywhere else for that matter.

I'm 14 years old so a ****ing contest with me on wine is pretty pointless. I dont drink much of it or have any interest in it. My father collects/drinks quite a lot of wine so i do have a little bit of experience with Grange. My experience is limited to samples rather than bottles though.
Did you use your expensive education and retire early or do your parents fund your lifestyle?
Also, drinking a bottle of ú15 wine a night doesn't make you a connoisseur. It makes you an alcoholic.

Upper-Middle class is about right, albeit inheritance wise me and my sister will be liquid cash millionaires, even after tax with properties in 4 countries.
If you are 14 then inevitably your parents pay for you to play Eve, so it seems our parents funding lifestyles is a common theme here despite me being 17 years your senior :).
But I doubt that you are 14 so this is irrelevant unless you actually did start playing Eve at age 12/13.
This thread has perhaps of my own doing descended into a really bad Jerry Springer Episode. Drinking 2 bottles of wine at night is not alcoholism, it is dependency, but since I do occasional periods of work to remove the golden spoon guilt from my conscience and somehow manage to abstain it is therefore choice and not addiction.
I assume if I was an alcoholic I would not be playing football with my toffling friends, notably Cuthbert, Percy and Rupert, 3 nights a week while also driving there and back?
Lol anyhow - returning to the subject matter - many of those with monocles referring to others as peasants are quite possibly poor in real life themselves. That's all I am saying.
Quite frankly how this farce got to page 3 is beyond comprehension and is making the chaps at the social club (Tarquin in particular), chuckle in their royal tweed blazers
