Today after a couple months absence I decided to come back to eve (perfect timing right? /rollseyes). My alliance has since then moved on from old are of operation so I decide to get my stuff and move it all from my low sec staging point back to high. Of course being the good carebear that I am I know how to and have used the mwd/cloak trick quite well. So run over, pack everything up, double check my orca fit, and wave goodbye. I warp to gate, jump, and begin the mwd/cloak trick.....but when I drop from cloak I'm not moving nearly fast enough to get to warp instantly. I figure I must have simply not been watching the cycle timer that closely. But after a few more tries I still aint nearly fast enough when mwd and cloak go off. Now I decide to completely get rid of the aligning process of this and pre-align my orca to a planet, wait until I've stopped (I figured 7m/s was slow enough), start moving forward and activate cloak and mwd at the same time and see how much speed I get before mwd cycles off. I ended up getting only 28m/s in that 10sec window. A full 33m/s less than the amount I need to go into warp. Has anyone noticed this happening on other ship types or is it just the orca?

Improved cloak?
Possible bug with skills not applying to ships at the moment (**** CCP)
Doing it wrong?
Nothing has changed that should affect MWD/Cloak on an Orca or anything else. ~~~

Does classic mwd&cloak even work on orca? it's 2.5 times heavier than BS and top speed with mwd&improved cloak is about same as with neither, with worse align because of mwd mass penalty. How exactly would it accelerate to 75% of speed in 10 seconds when it normally takes 40? Now if you drop cloak early and get 1-2 seconds of mwd and no cloak it may work, and surely it'll allow to warp in 10 seconds with just mwd |

I have never had it not work exactly like any other ship before.

Cant speak for the Orca but it worked for me post patch in small ships. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

orca is possibly too heavy for this trick, which works fine for haulers and other light ships. There isnt always an easy mode for everything in eve.

it works 2 days later , before last opt. patch . I can try it again , but i think its OK....
BTW: if you wana use Mwd+cloak on orca , you must have min. 2 agi modules/rigs or break/start cloak 2 sec before/afterend mwd pulse.... or 1+1 sec... it still work nice.

The reason it does not work is because the Orca is too heavy and has such poor agility. I had the same question about this when the 100mwd Orca fit first became popuar first came out. I tried everything to make the cloak/mwd trick work and failed. Then I went to the test server with a very expensive idea:
Implants:
Low-grade Nomad agility set Eifyr and Co. 'Rogue' AY-2
Rigs:
3c Large Low Friction Nozzle Joint
High:
Improved Cloaking Device II
Mid:
100mn Digital Rocket Bossters ( I know, huh)
Low:
2x Inertia Stabilizer II
It works a treat, yet far from practical. If you decide to fit an Orca like this on TQ be a sport and post where you plan to fly it. Patri

It still works.
And for what it is worth, it also works on a Rorqual, though you have to overheat the MWD.
