Edited by: Octarius Eskravu on 01/07/2011 11:10:30 yeah...that's it...caldari tattoos suck, i wonder if the CCP designers are thinking in actually put some work on it...i mean they look like prison identification marks, not tattoos. It looks like the caldari hired the amarr inkers that marked their minmatar slaves to do the job!
I'm not asking for a freaky wiiiiiide variety like the minnies have...but c'mon...something a bit more creative than a couple of stripes would be nice.
Hope i'm not alone on this one
Cheers

Well, Caldari citizens are not individuals, they are seem as part of the state, contraptions needed for it to work. I think the tattoos fits them pretty well.
Its a corporate dictatorship afterall.

Check out the tattoo system in ArcheAge. You can place them anywhere on the face, resize them and turn them 360deg.
A system like that in EvE would have been fantastic.

well, i do agree with the fact that the race itself is indeed a corporate dictatorship not seen as individuals...but i have to point out the fact that you may eventually defect the state, and live and follow a completely new path, like piracy or even join the minmatar rebellion, and with this be free to apply yourself tattoos that shows you're not what your bloodline tells but what you choose to be.
One idea to solve this is by having a good standing with some of the other factions should unlock their unique characteristic such as tattoos.

There's not a single tattoo in EVE that doesn't suck so far. Which is a bit sad tbh, I miss my old ones.. -

You're a Caldari. You are the biggest part of the player base in EVE, and have some of the most annoying ships.
So that is why you can't have nice things.

Well dude, start campaigning to get race locks on character art assets removed - let everyone have every hairstyle, clothing style and tattoo choice on every character. I've been making noise about this for months but it's not going to happen unless we get the players behind it. ----- Andreus Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

Yes where did the Amarr gold and silver face markings go? ... did we become poor and can only get cheap tattoos now? ... did to many Minmatar slaves escape? you know the ones that would paint our faces.
Ok start the religious chanting to get them back!

Don't worry, you will get new tattoos in the NeX store.
The art team wasn't motivated to do anything that wouldn't cross over into Twilight Online in the past, but now that we have the NeX store.... ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

I don't mind the tattoos available. Caldari aesthetics are fairly utilitarian and the tattoos seem to match that. That said, I pretty much just made my new avatar as decent match for my old one, so I am just matching the old tattoo. -Xindi Kraid: Delivering acerbic wit and scathing comments with just a dash of 'stab you in the eye' |

Edited by: Octarius Eskravu on 01/07/2011 13:00:18 well...but im not falling into that aurum crap...not paying more than i do to play this game. My idea of sync the tattoos with the faction standing seems plausible...i mean...one could have born caldari, but defected to joined the tribal liberation force and roams daily into caldari high sec ganking state militia carebears, i ask why does this pilot have to be stuck with the race's unique marks instead of the ones of the race he fights alongside?
