Originally by: xeitgeist It's kind of a huge slap in the face to CCP. They paid a lot of money out of their own pocket to get all these people down to Iceland, and they won't even do their job. They're just drinking and being idiots.
it's CCP who usually buys them tons of booze in the first place _____________________ Look down. Back up. Where are you? You're on a forum, with the alt your alt could post like. |

It's Iceland. It's the least hospitable place on the planet after Australia. Trust me, if you were in Iceland, you'd get smashed every night too.
Icelandic people have to drink a lot of alcohol, and the reason they do it is to make them forget that they're in Iceland. ----- Andreus Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

After seeing the internal newsletter, internal email, recent dev blogs and CCP forum posts, I find the phrase CCP concessions to be an oxymoron.

I want to assure everyone that CCP put roofies in our drinks last night and buggered us thoroughly just before a consensus was reached. Although a brief synopsis could be written up and a multitude of translation services are available, we most definitely want to stretch out the guise of working tirelessly on the issues at hand as we spend the rest of the day allowing our anuses to snap back into shape just before our imminent gangraipe at the hands of the community upon reading said statement. Thank you for your patience.

So Mittani having a few drinks = entire CSM is a sham? Do the actions of the other members not matter at all?
If the meetings are as pointless and useless as all the forum trolls make it out to be, anyone who give's half a rat's ass about the game would want to drink heavily as well.
The community members here with no patience, who demand live streams, instant full transcripts, within minutes of meetings being over, and who openly ridicule the whole thing as a dog and pony show, dont deserve answers in the first place.
These threads are a just a ****ing match to see who can say "i told you so" with smug self-satisfaction when this whole thing is over.
Whining that you are not being spoonfed everything in real time as events unfold doesnt help a goddamn thing. People actually interested in constructive dialogue, the ones who hold out hope that things could be improved through these talks, are going to be fine waiting another 24 hours or so for all the statements to be edited and released.
And if people here were respectful and had a degree of patience, they could release more information faster in the first place. But now, they have to be extremely tactful in what is said or not said, because they have a thousand *******s waiting to burn them at the stake regardless of what they say . It is the community's collective immature behavior that forces the whole process to slow down and have everything released at once, so that there isnt a thousand small ****storms and 6 more useless threads created everytime someone tweets.
Seriously, people. If you don't have an open mind about how this all will end, you need to stop posting because your comments are irrelevant and a waste of our time.

You take this stupid thread way too seriously... The OP is not successful in life by "normal" meaning and chose to attack those who somehow manage to have fun in their life.
Thats all.

I lol'd at the fact that a 'representive' of a video game community was held to high expectations. I mean its just some gamer wtf did you expect? I think some people need.to step back look in the mirror and laugh at themselves. It's all for show anyway ccp is going to do what they want the game will continue and rl will keep passing you by.

Whatever you think of the CSM.. Show a little bit of gratitude... They have given up two days of their own time to go over there on our behalf... CCP paid for their trip but they are not getting wages to be there.. So stop the spoiled children act and just .. show.. a .. little.. patience...
The answers are coming... They have worked hard.. Why shouldnt they have fun in the evening?
Whatever the outcome of the meeting.. I for one am grateful to the CSM people that went over there.... If they were not successful (I'm optimistic after reading twitter)...... well at least they tried.. and I will just move on to something new..
Anyhow cut them some slack ....

Why does it have to be a terrible ordeal? Just because they have been in discussions doesnt mean they cant get along with the people on the other side of the table.. Its not like they dont have anything in common.... ;-P What will you say if they come back and say they got all the answers you wanted? the right answers? Will you still be ungrateful?

I will seriously be humbly grateful. I am a pessimist though, it is hard for me to see the light at the end of the tunnel as a good thing. With me, that light just means a train is connected to it, an being in the tunnel means I am seriously screwed.

They're just using this meeting as an excuse to get a free vacation to Iceland and get wasted every night. Also I like how Helicity is permabanned for saying "die in a fire" but this piece of sh*t is allowed to tell people to go kill themselves.
Well, good luck EVE players. Your representatives are all hungover as sh*t so don't expect anything to get done at these meetings.
What's wrong with you? You sound hysterical. Get some fresh air, get a life.

Why is CSM a joke? Let's see...
1) It's run by a goon who appears to take being a goon seriously, even in real life, even when all this crap is going on. 2) Apparently they are incapable of spending a few days in Iceland without going out to get smashed. Its a few days, and thousands of people are watching and have expectations, and yet not only do they HAVE to get drunk but... 3) ...they can't refrain from bragging about their hangovers like some frat boy. How old are you again "mittens?" Learn to drink water after you drink alcohol you loser.
What I see is a decent PR stunt by CCP (the CSM) ruined by a successful griefing campaign to elect a f'ing moron to lead it. Well done Eve players. If you didn't elect people "for the lulz" CCP might have actually gotten away with an appearance of significant community participation.
I'd tell mittens to "die in a fire" but I'm on a forum about a game where people actually do die in a fire, not tweeting about real life people in a non-game format.

Anyone who tells anyone else to die or to kill themselves deserves a perma-ban. I fail to see the humour or the tongue firmly jammed in the cheek in those statements.

I whole heartedly agree. And if they can settle their differnces away from the discussion table like professionals rather than spoiled brats then good for them and CCP.
If I had to get to Iceland from here then I assure you that it would add another day to the trip on both ends to get from home to the nearest international airport as, thankfully, I live a zillion miles from the thing.
Though I am sceptical of the purpose of CSM I still applaud them individually for taking three or four days out of their lives, family and work to go there.
