Understandably, people are a bit upset that there is micro-transactions in eve, or at least a odd version of it. what is this rage really going to do? remove something we don't know, and yet have to see in play? fear that someone that buys something that is better then your ship will be a auto-win? well lets look at a little picture i made on how this system currently works:
Knowing the nature of eve online, if someone wants to buy a item off the market with MT, they should be able too much like of they just got the isk anyways to buy a item. now if they sold items like ships that are "prototype" ships which require skills, LP, and standing to acquire from the nex market, they should if they want too. it'll boost the price of a plex as they will be more demanded, in game players can still buy the item on the nex market, by acquiring plex's on the market.
now to touch base on what people are going to criticize me for. Why do you agree with selling a advantage for money? well if you have not been playing eve since launch, you'll know that when you take something, or anything out of the station, you can lose it. same goes for the nex items in market. if they sold a prototype caldari scorp, that is a armor tank, rather then a shield tank, but has the same bonus's as the standard scorp. then if the player decided to use it, they can lose it, and nothing too big is done to eve.
now, do i think they should allow players to just randomly go up and buy only that one ship because its the best thing on the nex market? no, there should be a skill requirement to allow the person to acquire the ship's BPC, as well as a LP requirement from 2 factions + the AUR.
a example i already used that i would accept on the nex market: Prototype caldari scorp: armor tank rather then shield tanked cost: 1750 aur, 100k caldari LP,100k amarr LP, a high standing to caldari state faction ( lets say above a 4 for now ), and connections 5
this would make it so you have to have done missions with caldari and amarr to gain their trust in some "prototype" ships which are not normally available on the market, and the skill requirement force players to specialize in acquiring this item. so this ship is highly expansive, but is a convenient in the ways that if your a armor tank, and wanna fly a scorp, you can for a large price, with current prices about 800m isk at a minimum for market prices. will this break the game? no, if you don't want the ship to exist, then gank it.
this game is unique, where if someone has something you don't like you can destroy it, if they take it out of stations. and tbh if you yourself don't want to spend the money, then don't, that's your choice. if some rich 17 year old wants to spend $300 in plex's to get that ship, and field it in pvp, let him. as long as the items sold are on par or at most 5% better then a item of similar role and size, it wont change eve online to the way that a fleet of nex bought ships always wins.
end rant from me to all the people that will cry about MT. do fleets of t2 ships always beat fleets of t1 ships? and are the fleet fights always fair anyways? this is eve online, if the kid wants to come to school with a $1,000 new bike, and you don't like it, whats stopping you from taking the bike and trashing it? it'll just end up being more tears for everyone to collect! so this is my reason i support MT.
just, don't sell remaps, capital ships, name changes*, employment history refresh*, SP, bonus isk/lp per mission, gender changes, or anything else we cannot destroy/steal/plunder/loot/(more pirate words) from other players to make them angry/cry/(any other desired effects).
( all things marked * are what i would support for isk sinks with pirate factions for further incarna features. )
