Edited by: Triztan Kaningam on 03/07/2011 20:52:56 Hi all,
I've been playing just long enough (4 mo) to have been caught and podded a few times, and each time there was a different trick or lure involved. Definitely interesting and worth avoiding in the future, and/or using to my own advantage against other players some day...
I've searched this forum a bit but haven't yet found such a thread...can anyone please point me to their favorite bookmarked list of tricks and tactics? I suppose I could just start one, but I'm sure it's been done before...
Thanks in advance |

Hi there Triztan,
There are a number of techniques used (in hisec anyway) have a read of the following Wiki article on Can Flipping as a brief overview on how at least one of them works.
Cheers,

Thanks all.

Definitely will. I'm also searchning under "lessons learned" as such stories are informative and entertaining.
>> can flipping
Heavens, didn't think of that, but then I'm interested in stuff I didn't already know about. Can flipping is common and avoidable.
I'll post a link to such a thread if I find it or start it later.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
If you think "that guy is an idiot", he wants you to think so.
If you have one blind spot, your enemy knows about it. And is probably hiding a fleet there.
Always assume everyone is after you. Especially people close to you.
And perhaps the best advice... don't fly what you can't afford to lose. When you get killed (that's a when, not an if), just "gf" in local and reship. Some fights you just can't win, and the sooner you get used to that, the better. ---

Q: How long do kill rights last?
Say you take something from someone's jet can or one of those free loot cans outside JITA. Is that guy and his corp allowed to kill you over and over again forever as a personal enemy? One time? Within X days?

15 minutes is the time for can flipping and aggressions. It persists until aggression stops.
30 days is the killright you get for someone who takes you out in Highsec or Lowsec. It is worth one ship destroyed. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

I think I'm going to have some fun later this week taking stuff out of bait cans cheap ships and speeding off with it. See what kind of mess I can get into.

Only if the victim does not use any offensive module! If you gank someone but they are able to shoot back they won't get killrights.
