I love to go solo, but everytime i go solo it ends with a gank, with a lot of ships blobbing me and my ship goes down in a couple of seconds and the only thing i can do is... nothing.
If i go with friends i always find more enemies: we are 5 all cruisers and bc, they are 15 all bs and commands; we are 15 then they are 50 all t3 and faction ships and logis; we are 50, then they are 200, with carriers and supers.
I tried 0.0, lowsec, empire wars, everything, but the result is always the same. I mean: i'm not here to whine, but just to share my experience, becouse no matter what i do, enemies are always more. I'd just like to have fun, with small fights, 1vs1, small gangs... 1vsBlob is not fun.

Choosing right ships that are not too scary may help sometimes to get good fights.

EVE is not fair. If you're trying to get fair fights you're doing it wrong. Try to make it unfair for the enemy.
That said, I solo all the time and most of the time I actively look for large fleets because they have more targets. Then it's just a matter of out smarting and/or out maneuvering them to get a kill.
If you want 1vs1 then all you need to do is ask for it. Many pilots like myself honor 1vs1 agreements. I've known quite a few pilots that get all their kills sitting in a trade hub doing 1vs1's all the time.
Best way to ensure they don't break the agreement is to insist that they fleet up with you and meet at your safe spot. Or at very least do it in an empty system. -----------------------------------------

Just as your desire when solo is not to get ganked by a blob, so the desire of the other solo pilots out there is not to get ganked by your blob (as far as they know, you have friends sitting on the gate just waiting for you to get point). And just as you and your friends in 5 cruisers and BC's are looking for targets, so are the 15 BS and Command ships, etc.
In other words, a key element to PVP is choosing fights; you want to fight ships or gangs you can beat, and avoid fighting ships or gangs that will defeat you. It stands to reason, then, that (assuming other pilots are on the same wavelength as you and me) you need to appear to be a ship or a gang your target can beat. You need to hide your numbers, or fly an underrespected ship, or have your tricks up your sleeve where they can't be seen.
In yet other words, hunt cruisers in a T1 frigate, or take on superior numbers counting on your gang's superior communication and tactics to prevail, etc.

And about your link: first kill: 21:25 last kill: 22:57 in 5 different solarsystems so it's not like they fought them all togheter (that is pretty much what happen to me instead).
Anyway, thanks to all the other guys for the replies.

I started off the same. being popped every time i went out. sometimes i would make 40+ jumps and find nothing but lolcamps.
now i quite happily have a little web of lowsec/nullsec that gets used for icefields or occasional people on roams, with a decent station i took a selection of expendable ships to. check local for corpmates, DSCAN belts for lonely ratters, assess the situation and age of the pilot before attacking. sometimes you still get hit by gangs while tackling one, but thats the risk you take. its lonely being solo but its a good rush.
my KB was something like 2 kills to 20 deaths when i started but its all learning and improving. and i am catching up.
you cant just increase your numbers, you need to increase your knowledge/skill

It is very simple to find fights in EVE: 1. Join one of the Faction Warefare Militas. 2. Get a T1-Cruiser or T1/T2-Frig. Don't go too expensive, avoid T3. People won't attack you solo if you are looking like an Master-of-the-Universe. 3. Travel into enemy low-sec and pop up a Medium Plex in a system which is on one of the main travel routes. 4. Sit in the plex and wait for a War Target or Pirate to enage you. Usually it doesn't take too long until you get your action.

Fly a vaga in lowsec/0.0. Get in a system with a few people, scan for a sanctum/haven, warp to it. You'd be suprised how many people you can catch. If a wild blob appears, you can also have fun dragging drams and other tackle frigs away from the blob and mugging them. If you prefer smaller/cheaper/different flavour, go for a dram/slicer/taranis and do the same thing

Yes that is little roam on area, and report is formed on small fights around area, sad part is that no on died so it does not show up all those carriers etc which where on field on some point.
But my point was that when you fly ships like those no one is scared and they will come to die again and again.

Always make them think they have the advantage, then they will always engage. However turning that advantage against them is where skill and experience comes into play. Unfortunately that really can't be taught as every single situation is different. What I do recommend however is going nano, it really opens up your ability to engage heavily outnumbered.

The best weapon you have to kill your enemies is "INTEL" .....so scout before you attack. Write down ships, numbers, playernames, playing since when, corp/alliance info, etc etc.... Then attack if you can win it. |

OP unfortunately what you describe is how eve currently works. Other than FW plexing CCP has never *even tried* to create a system where people can get decent small scale pvp fast. Unfortunately fw plexing is currently broken. But even broken it is the best way to get decent pvp fast.
Originally by: Meditril It is very simple to find fights in EVE: 1. Join one of the Faction Warefare Militas. 2. Get a T1-Cruiser or T1/T2-Frig. Don't go too expensive, avoid T3. This is the best method I found. I get about 1 good fight every two hours this way. That is not quite enough return on my time so I unsubbed. Hopefully they will fix fw so we can get 3-5 fights per hour. But that does not seem to be a priority for ccp.
People who talk about gathering intel formign gangs etc. etc. Thats all fine. But by and large you are just going to be ganking others not getting decent fights that way. That can be good fun - dont get me wrong but it does get old if you like challenging games.
In general the more people in gang you have the more you are going to have to wait for a good fight. |

If you want to get decent and "fair" pvp then there just started one turnament event called Blunderdome. There were events 5vs5 and 1vs1 fights this far. Next event is supposed to take place next weekend. Prizemoney on next event is 2 bilions along with personal donation of Nave Megathron from one participating pvper. Join "Blunderdome" channel in game to get some more info.
So just get your team together and for some pvp with rules if it is what you miss. Not to mention it is really fun. |
