I've noticed the CNR had dropped a fair bit, and still seems to be dropping steadily.
Don't recall anything in the patch notes that may have affected this ship, so has the demand for this ship gone down so much that it's just dropping?

Nearly all faction ships have been dropping steadily in price since January, with a few exceptions.

Dev Blog: Agents made easy * No more courier missions, unless you want them * All agents quality 20 (previously 18 was typically the highest in hisec) So there is more LP being generated.

I would beg to differ about this point. They managed to stay stable around 500m when they first hit the market from contracts.
I forgot about the agent chances, honestly didn't think faction ships would drop that much though to be honest lol. Well I guess that's /thread

I'm not any kind of economist, but this would be my guess as well.
Increased transparency.
Sellers able to modify their prices as the market fluctuates (Contracts are fixed price once created, and you lose some kind of fee if you cancel a contract to re-make it with a new price).
Even just greater visibility. As a noob that has been playing for 4 years a and few months, the Contracts interface is cumbersome, and I frequently mis-use it and have to go back and change settings to get what I want. And a year or two ago the Contracts market was downright intimidating to me, and I'd never have thought of actually using it to sell anything. Probably 3 year ago, maybe even 2.5 years ago, I strongly disliked the thought of even having to go to Contracts to buy something, e.g. a Navy ship.
Moving faction hulls to Market is much more noob-friendly.

I'd wager that the increased popularity of the Tengu for mission running is partially to blame. More mission runners due to agent buff and anomaly nerf might have an effect, but I think won't be as noticeable due to the issues with guristas jamming driving a lot of people away from Caldari missions.
Also, are Caldari mission runners switching to Rattlesnakes instead of CNR's due to jamming? I found the Rattlesnake to offer superior DPS, passive tank similar to the Drake, and the cost was close to the same as a CNR. Plus the Rattler had the advantage of still putting out DPS even when permajammed.

1. agent changes
2. tengu
thats probably all you need to know, 1. creates a higher supply of CNRs and 2. creates a reduced demand. Therefore in market terms:
increased supply + diminished demand = lower prices. . 2011 Thread of the year award |

Its the LP gains. You get insane ammounts from agents now, items bought with LP are dropping across the board. Check out the prices of Implants. Which makes me sad since I used to trade in them but cest la vie.

If the OP is speaking to the most recent drop in prices, and not the rather long slow side, then I misunderstood the intent of the question.
What we do not have is a full year of faction ship data with out it also being the year they were put on the market. Making the summer slump argument is something of a guess, though I will make it anyway. We do have something else we can examine however.
Take a look at the corollary of non-faction ships. Many have also taken a dip at about the same percentage as the faction ships. This is also about the same percentage of many minerals as well ... summer slump, not uncommon for Eve. Volume has certainly been picking up over the past few months as well. Could just be oversupply, in comes the summer slump and, bonk, on its head.

You know... I knew I should have spent the time to search for dev blogs from around the date of the noticable price drop in the graph cause that would have revealed it... Now look what I have spawned! A successful, non-troll filled and actually informative thread! God... What have I done, I've added a successful discussion thread regarding the markets

The agent changes probably played the biggest role, with better LP payouts and more people doing the missions they want to do. Reinforced by the anomaly nerf, 0.0 dwellers now moving their carebear alts to high sec to grind missions.

Considering lev 4 missions are heavy on cruiser and frigate presence at a times, people started rolling in those t3 ships my corp mates do the same. Say Tengu can tank BSs with no problems at the same time killing cruisers faster, but a bit slow on battleships.
A bit off topic I want to have a good battleship ( better then CNR) for missions that does not have this bull**** as golem, like most level 4s can be soloed in drake too. No wonder mara class dropped from 1 bill to like 700 mill.

Quite likely there has been an increase in the number of people running missions after the anom nerf, and then even more after the DRF kicked out the NC alliances.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

There is another good reason LP is dropping in value. Since the loot (meta1) and salvage (medium rigs)nerf alot people dont see the point of looting and or salvaging. They rather buy a tengu and blitz for the LP. LP drops in value.

Actually, I believe that when it was introduced the demand was high as noone had one. Now everyone has one, demand is down.
