tempting as it may be lets try to stick to the facts, if you have it off, you have it off. No need for long speeches.
the point is what do you actually do while in the CQ, how do you interact with it? do you interact with it? what features do you use? ---------------------------------------------
For me, I load in and usually walk out to the balcony so I can tell what ship I'm in, plus I like the view better.
and thats about it, I move my toon to the place I like and use the side menu like I always have.
I have a ton of opinions about CQ too, but this again is just about how we are making use of CQ, so lets keep on track.

Srs reply Every time I make sure I'm on the balcony, theres more light and higher brightness. And I can see my ship, In case I need to check I'm in the right boat before I undock.
It anoys me when I find myself inside the quarters, standing behind the couch.

I watch my character look bemused and scratching his head. He's probably thinking the same as I am, how something that should add to immersion, has been bungled so badly, It completely breaks immersion.

I continually try and double click on the door and drag ships onto the door, one day I will get used to it not working.
When I'm on my laptop I typically spend my time checking the temperature of the laptop and finding things to prop it up on.

Unlike some stubborn people, I have embraced Incarna and I've actually managed to replace old habits, with new ones.
When I'm in the mood for some missions, I bring up the new agent finder and sift through the pages until I find what I want. (sometimes while seated)
I utilize the "TV" for planetary interaction, corporation management and sometimes click the random ads.
Other times I'll wander around wishing I could sit/lay down on the bed, wondering wtf these little caskets are or I'll walk up the ramp and take a look at my ship (although, for those that keep mentioning this, you can see which ship you have active by simply looking at the hologram on your coffee table *GASP*).
When I'm on my miner alt, I'll dock up (after mining a fair amount of minerals) and I'll double click the holo-ship on the ramp in order to drop the contents of my cargo into the station hold.
And sometimes I'll click on the door in hopes of it actually opening.
Oh my Jita alt, I usually sit her down, cover up local with my wallet window and place the market browser on the other half of the screen.
This is how I interact with CQ on a daily basis. It really isn't that bad. And if you're reading this, you've fallen into a signature trap. You owe me 1m ISK. |

I make use of CQ by not making any use of it. Otherwise there's just no use for it.

EDIT: Also, I try not to look at my character. I know they'll improve, but right now they are just badly drawn, a huge disappointment after the expectations set by the character creation process

I usually walk over to the stairs leading down to the pod that I can't get to with all my graphics settings on low and ask: "WTF CCP? WTF really?"

Would had been nice, climbing down the stairs, entering pod, pod closes doors, fade out, undocking sequence starts. Ah, well.

I rig up my camera so I can snap pictures of naked capsuleers as they exit their pod upon the balcony.
Then I blackmail them for the images.

When I dock, the first thing that I do is make my way into my quarters and park my ass on the sofa. I watch the TV a little and get useful info on bounties, incursions, sov losses and new players joining the game. If I am in the mood for a mission of some sort I can use the Agent Finder to find an agent of my level nearby and one of the right type of agent.
As to some of the complaints. Loading times are fine. I can load CQ on my modest setup in around but usually under 10seconds. If you are having trouble loading it quickly, get some new hardware and join everyone else who have computers less then 4 years old.
Temperature of my Graphics Card? Yeah, I used to have my card running at about 105c, but that is easily solved by getting a After Market Cooler. I did that and now Im running at around 74 degrees. Im sorry, but CCP cant hold the game back because a few people have poor computers. Thats just well...its a stupid notion.

Edited by: Ciar Meara on 05/07/2011 07:55:23 I switched mine off, but yesterday I decided to test just how much it would raise the temperature of my card so I switched in on on high settings.
I do not have the problems some have with their avatar or rendering issues (ATI HD6950)
I ended up chatting to a mate of mine and watching the big tv screen. Some real effort has gone inthere to getting "up to date info". It had new capsuleers annoucements, markets, incursions and sov changes. Mixed with some nice quality video's from the different trailers of eve and I kinda liked it...
It did raise the temperature of my videocard with 9-10 degrees though. But since my fan was only blowing at 32% speed I wasn't worried. To be sure tough I am keeping my temp and fan gauges on my second screen... - Hilmar getur ekki tala= vi= ¦ig n·na, hann er a= fara ß japanska Tfskuverslun.

Sometimes, I will activate th CQ in order it to watch TV while I am working on my skill plan, ship fitting, or placing a lot of market orders. The main thing I am doing with it, is waiting on the CQ and Incarna in general to become useful or at least a fun addition to my game playing rather than a piece of mediocre, once in a while, eye candy. I want to be able to walk in stations, ships, and on planets while engaging in combat through the EVE client rather than on PS3.

To be honest I would turn it back on and maybe use it for planetary trololo which I havent really tried out yet. But since I'm moving to dat nullsec the planets should be good enough to give it a go.
note to self, bring commandcenters.

Most of the time I have mine set off, let's say I had enough time playing around with it.
I find it neat how they applied interface features within the environment itself! Overall it looks good but it does feel a tad too different and limited at this time.
Maybe in the future when they have expanded this part of the game more I'll have another look at it, for now I will miss spinning my ships when I'm waiting for the final minutes of my skills -_-.
