Since Incarna deployment I loose loads of drones each mission. :-( I'm Gallente pilot and fly a Myrm. Using Tech 2 drones. No matter if I do Level III or Level IV missions, always loosing 4 up to 10 drones each mission. :-( And because they are Tech 2 drones, its expensive... Loosing 10 Tech 2 drones are approximately 5 Mio ISK, so I loose far more ISK as I get as mission reward. Thats really annoying and my fun factor in this game decreased a lot since Incarna deployment. :-(

What the guy above me said. Just bring in your drones when the aggro begins. What's the challenge here?

But before Incarna I hadnt such problems... ??
Reference to the Patch notes:
Quote: Skills ňAn issue causing skills to not be applied to ships has now been resolved. This will be addressed in a future release. Currently you can apply a workaround which is to relog in a station or Log off in space, wait until your ship gets removed from space and then log back in.
Can it be that... ...the Bonus of my Myrmidon (+10% drone reliability each skill level) NOT applied to the drones? ...AND because drones are ships too: Can it be the drone skills to make them more reliable aren't applied to the drones too?

I fly a Myrm as well, and I can't say I have noticed anything different. I still have to recall my drones when they get aggro, even before the patch I still had to do the same thing. I don't think anything changed, maybe you are just getting different missions.

Edited by: Suki Youov on 06/07/2011 16:15:27 Firstly, use http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReports to find out which ships trigger aggro. Don't just set your drones to 'aggressive' if there are waves and trigger ships in the missions. Manually direct them to the other ships first and they won't take any damage. Keep an eye on the drone's health. If it starts taking damage, withdraw it, shoot the NPC with your railguns to draw aggo to your ship instead, and then re-release the drone.
Secondly, drones are a bit messed up since Incarna. The bonuses have supposedly been fixed but something is definitely different, a few of the missions seem harder than normal - smarter aggro and more damping. Adjust accordingly.
I only ever lose drones when I'm not paying attention, which isn't that often. Just manage them right and you won't lose many.

Don't let your drones get aggro. If they do, pull 'em in. Unless you are afk, then I dunno.
And it's "lose" not "Loose."

Get a wrench and tighten them (if they are 'loose').
Seriously though. Drones will always catch aggro, both before and after the upgrade, especially on missions with mutliple waves. If you are running LVL3 and 4 and havent figured out how to keep them alive you need to practice more. I can't remember the last drone I have lost and i fly my Myrm in wormhole sites as well.

I lost a couple of drones the other day, but was my fault for not paying attention. Aside from that I have had no problem with it. When enemy ships aggro in a mission, just recall to drone by and take the aggro yourself, then launch and slaughter.
Nothing real different than before. I have noticed enemies are a bit harder to kill, but I recently changed to a more tank set mission run build rather than balls out dps so just attribute it to that.

Can't say I've noticed since I don't really use drones any more. Being out in w-space pretty much makes them useless cept for specific circumstances. But, as a Gallente pilot with uber drone skills, allow me to give you some advice. If you want to mission, Caldari is the way to train.

Drones, as with most things in EVE Online, are absolutely riddled with bugs. I am constantly having trouble with drones, and it has certainly caused me to become rather enraged in the past. They don't always combine fire, sometimes drones will switch targets, sometimes I get no firing animation, sometimes they don't return etc etc. It's quite the joke really, but don't expect a fix anytime soon. |

sigh, it's :CCP:
My latest new bug is sometimes my ship can't stop. Have to redock to fix this. I usually find out when I gang warp to send my tank in then stop my ship, except it doesn't stop, the warp can't be stopped. Instead it goes in with the tank \o/ ------------------- piccy |

In some missions the rats will re-target drones even if you recall them and gain aggro. Worlds collide is an example. I have recalled drones, had the rats target and start shooting me, re-launched drones and have the rats un-target me and re-target my drones.
I have noticed drones not focus firing properly since Incarna. They seem to get upset by ECM and go after the ECM ships instead of their assigned target.
Still, they work out cheaper than t2 missiles.
