Edited by: Yarrrrrhh on 09/07/2011 22:06:33 Monocles are implants. They're indestructible when worn. If monocles are indestructible, then all implants should be indestructible.
If not then someone needs to come up with an explanation for this behavior of monocles. I demand a non-******ed backstory for this.
Also: this breaks immersion for me. And most likely not just for me. It's a game-breaking item although it's vanity only. |

Implants affect game mechanics.
Monocles do not.

I'd feel stupid whenever I destroy someones pod who wears a monocle only to know it doesn't get destroyed as well. That affects my game a lot. |

It's common sense. No one is going to pay irl money or a ****load of ISK for something that they could lose moments later AND does nothing to actually effect their gameplay.

tha hell you say! i didn't train for T2 salvagers for nuthin. i fully intend on using them on floating corpses to snatch off that monocle. CCP should allow this to be possible! |

Of course not. That doesn't make it common sense. It would make common sense not to offer it for sale if nobody can buy it under those circumstances.
If you sell it anyway and make it indestructible your hard core dark and dystopian future spaceship game becomes 'pretend metrosexual dress-up lollapalooza'.

Sorry your boob job got blown up. Good thing you took off your monocle and $1000 pants before you got in the pod though, they'd have been soiled. |

Is this going to be the new rage now? Clothing is indestructible?
CCP calms the majority, and the minority is back to vigorously looking for things to complain about... |

If this bugs you so much, undock and try to figure out why your ship has hit max velocity and yet still CLEARLY has thrusters on. I wonder if you'll start complaining about that too... |

once you tell me how a ship with no front thrusters manages to go from 1000m/s or more to 0m/s in less than 5 seconds when I hit control+space. |

Can't we just let this one slide? I still have trouble getting over the "backstory" for the external camera drones... really don't need one for monocles, canes, and top hats. |

Because space is thick.
Not as thick as the OP and those who follow his twisted pattern of thought, though. |

Supporting the op's point, i believe to remember that CCP stated they will get destroyed if you get podded. Somehow they do not.

Maybe because it would really turn off the people who frequent the Noble Exchange? EVE is real, after all... real money. |

The NeX store is aware of the unique circumstances that Capsuleers face with jump clones and being podded. Ergo, you're not buying a monocle, you're buying a lifetime service contract to provide you with a replacement monocle no matter how you lose your monocle.
Monocles are cheap. It's the lifetime replacement guarantee that will be honored throughout all of Eve that is expensive.

Well, okay then... so it's like buying a Zippo lighter. Or, a monocle subscription? |

Why doesn't it say that in the NEX store description? Why can't I chose to not have the monocle implanted in my next clone? How come every station in EVE has monocles in store? What corporation is this that can offer the same service throughout all of Eve?
AND WHY IS THIS SERVICE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR MONOCLES AND NOT ALL IMPLANTS? |
