Edited by: Colonial Burton on 10/07/2011 04:22:41 Edited by: Colonial Burton on 10/07/2011 04:16:45 I spent a period of 4 months within SpaceMonkeyÆs Alliance [SMA] between the end of September 2010 and beginning of February 2011 and during those 4 months, there was a hatred that grew.
After experiencing running an alliance of my own for 5 months, I decided that it was not for me and offered those within the alliance to join me in a different venture. We had a friend already part of [SMA] and had multiple friends who had been part of their alliance before so we decided to join in with them. Most of us signed in with XERO Corporation.
The early days of my membership were relaxed. The [SMA] home pocket had been under constant attack for almost a month straight and the alliance they were ôtributingö under, Mostly Harmless [-42-], had decided to give them some rest and recovering time in the region of Fade. My time was mostly made up of moving assets to P-2TTL for station and ratting in C-OKOR with the majority of the corporation I was part of. The occasional CTA was called upon and I attended willingly. My first impressions of the alliance were great, but I was unaware as to what I would find out.
I logged in one evening with my good friend David Soloma (Who I know outside Eve and play Eve and LAN games regularly) to find out that a station had been deployed in UC3, the [SMA] home system and that we would be moving back to our own home pocket. During an alliance meeting, we were informed of what we would be doing as an alliance to rebuild the space owned by [SMA]. It was almost straight forward, get the military index levels to 5 and have industrialists working together to mass produce ships and stockpile the market in UC3. It was also announced that each Wednesday, from downtime to downtime, the alliance will rat, loot, salvage and mine with all proceeds going directly to the corporation wallet. Most members were willing to do this as the alliance leadership stated the ISK used will go towards paying for the upgrades and bills for the systems the alliance owned.
For about a month, the [SMA] pocket was peaceful. All its members would participate in the weekly Wednesday funding operations and camp out EC-P8R. The occasional CTA was called and roams were taken out. However, this peace did not last long.
Darkside had moved into the NPC space in Pure Blind region. Their target was [SMA]. They would have pilots remain in local cloaked, even when they were not physically at their computer, just to give the impression that they were being watched at all times. At the same time, [SMA] had been declared war on by The 0rphanage [ADOPT]. The alliance had called a meeting on Ts3 and announced that there will be no hauler runs to Jita because of the war with [ADOPT], no alliance members were allowed to fight [ADOPT] in high sec and there was to be no ratting while Darkside had been positioning players in [SMA] space. A lot of members were ok with it and expected it to pass quickly, but this wasnÆt the case.
A month had gone by. During that month, [SMA] was in an almost constant high sec war with [ADOPT] and Darkside had begun Covert HotDrops on [SMA] members who insisted on ratting while there were hostiles in system. The alliance leadership had ordered us to remain docked up in the UC3 station while hostiles would bring in their conventional nano gangs. I had also become a Fleet Commander within the alliance due to holding some roams at random times into low sec space that were successful in replacement for Rothana Haldane who had just left the alliance in anger at other members. I was also asked if I though any other members held potential as a Fleet Commander an I nominated my good friend David Soloma since both of us would go over different tactics regularly over coffee and smoking out on the back veranda of my house. We made a deal that as long as we both were going to Fleet Command, we would work together on building a good tactical background and study various tactics thoroughly before employing them.

Edited by: Colonial Burton on 10/07/2011 04:17:35 Myself and David Soloma became increasingly disgruntled at the situation with Darkside. It wasnÆt because of the alliance losing ships to them, it was more that our hands were tied because of the alliance policies. We were ordered not to engage hostiles in our pocket, even if they had tackled someone so all we could do was stand by and watch them die. Another alliance meeting was called and all attended as usual. We were told that Mordus Angels had been helping hostiles with supplies and that they had been shooting members of our alliance and coalition at jump bridges and that there will be a campaign held against them. Most of us at this point were tired of having to remain docked in the home pocket and not being allowed to go to empire to fight [ADOPT] so this was music to our ears. The deployment list was given as to the corporation that would be going to fight and the alliance members were not happy. All of the corporation except 4 were sent. The 4 corporations that were to remain in the home pocket included the majority of the Fleet Commanders the alliance had, and to everyones surprise, the alliance leaders. This resulted in only 3 Fleet Commanders being deployed for a campaign that would last almost a month and end in with morale even lower than it already was.
We removed all of Mordus AngelsÆ POS towers and all their allies as well. With that completed, we would then force them out of the NPC space that they occupied, or that was the plan anyway, which ended up with people falling asleep in station camps then waking up in a station with a new clone. It didnÆt help much hearing about how the alliance council were getting all these Dread Guristas spawns and making billions of ISK since Darkside had left while we were camping station that were for nothing. After a while, members of the alliance began moving back to UC3 and started ratting once more. The campaign was abandoned shortly after.
Because of more activity returning to the pocket, so did Darkside. During the first week, myself and David Soloma had devised a plan to trap these AFK cloaking pilots despite the alliance policy of not fighting hostiles in the home pocket. I organised for a Raven and Drake to begin work on a Hub Anomolly in UC3 knowing full well there was a hostile in system. We had a fleet of 10 Destroyers positioned at a POS tower in system with myself in a Falcon cloaked in visual range of the Raven and Drake. After half an hour of waiting, another hostile entered local. Within seconds of entering local, a pair of Stealth Bombers uncloaked and began engaging the Raven and Drake. This was the cue to warp in, tackle and jam the pair and call in the Destroyers. We destroyed the both of them and forced them to revise their tactics. Evidence of this was seen in the absence of Darkside for close to a fortnight. While this was pushing hostiles out of the pocket and a successful example that we could win against them, I was pulled aside by the alliance leadership and was cautioned for fighting them in the home pocket.
Rothana Haldane had made a return to the alliance and was immediately enstated as a ôJunior Fleet Commanderö. This title meant that he still had to take orders from regular Fleet Commanders like myself and David Soloma in which he did not like. There were multiple times where Rothana would attempt to take a fleet over from under my command in low sec space and even the home defense fleets which were authorised as long as a registered alliance Fleet Commander was in charge. An altercation took place during a Home Defense fleet where Rothana Haldane had entered the channel and began ordering members to do things that would not be beneficial to the Home Defense fleet. When asked to hold comms, he began verbally attacking me. An hour after the altercation Rothana asked for my forgiveness and admitted he was out of line. Since the problem had been talked out, everything was fine and we were able to go on defending our pocket. |

I was out with my partner during the next alliance meeting a few days later and received a text message from David Soloma informing me that Rothana Haldane had put it forward to the alliance that David Soloma should be removed from the Fleet Commanders list because of the argument between myself and Rothana. Because David had nothing to do with the argument, this kind of statement was not taken lightly by the majority of the alliance, however, David Soloma was removed from the Fleet Commanders list despite holding 20 fleets with only losing 5 of those giving him a 75% success rate. I then confronted the alliance and had told them that the decision was unjust and I would not stand for it. Alliance council said that this was not an urgent issue and could wait. I agreed to wait until they had time to talk it through. Again, this wasnÆt the case.
I later found out the more pressing issue the Alliance Council had that was more urgent than problems within their Fleet Command structure. The problem was that of the holding corporation. They require that all alts within the holding corporation be able to fly covert haulers to refuel towers owned by the holding corporation. Apparently the alliance nearly broke apart because of this issue as well which questioned the stability of the alliance then and there. That kind of problem is easily solved and the solution I came up with in 30 seconds for them, use their mains to transport the fuel in their covert haulers and use their alt in a shuttle to put the fuel from a jettison can into the tower. This ended up being the outcome and was put into motion straight away. I had expected that they would then move onto the issues within the Fleet Command structure that was deteriorating fast. Multiple Fleet Commanders left the alliance or resigned within days of being enstated due to the hostilities with Rothana Haldane and the Council was just not willing to take notice. This resulted in me stating that I was going to leave if they didnÆt sort out the problem.
Instead of solving the problem, they let it linger. Holding true to my word, I left [SMA]. A few days later I had received word that I was being declared as a spy within the alliance and that I stole multiple assets from the executor corp. Not sure how I could have done that since I was never in the executor corp at any stage of my membership.
Not long after, I also found out that a friendly corporation who defended my integrity was declared a hostile corporation within the alliance. They were accused of stealing moons, skimming from mining operations and making threats to the alliance. A lot of members knew the truth and prepared to leave the alliance as well. David Soloma was also declared a thief and spy because of his friendship with me and removed from [SMA].
XERO Corporation had gone through developments over the time I was in [SMA] as well. The founder, Crystal Evolution/Johnas Church, had decided to take a break from EvE and to keep the corporation with a leader, he enstated Sirus Prime as CEO with the arrangement that when Crystal Evolution/Johnas Church returns to EvE, XERO Corporation be immediately handed back. After I left, Crystal Evolution/Johnas Chuch returned to EvE from his break and was ready to get back into leading his corporation once more, only to be declared Kill on Sight by Sirus Prime to [SMA] and betrayed. Sirus Prime also admitted that EX River supported Sirus Prime through the whole ordeal. This gave us evidence that the alliance council would do anything just to hold onto members and would allow members to steal, cheat and backstab each other. It definitely showed that they cannot be trusted.

Currently, [SMA] is residing in Outer Ring since their home pocket is once again overrun due to the invasion from Ev0ke, Ncdot and Raiden. Developments have been made known through my contacts within [SMA] of plans that EX River and his ôCouncilö have already made exit plans to get their stuff into empire and disband the alliance. A lot of members from [SMA] have already left and their numbers have dropped from over a thousand players around the end of last year, to just around 650 members currently and dropping incredibly fast.
To all you [SMA] out there, it might be a wise option to get out while you can and find something better. [SMA] leadership will only use you for their personal gains and not the gains of the alliance. |

Seeing as it's an awful thread, I feel that as a representative of SM'SA (YOU PEOPLE KEEP FORGETTING OUR APOSTROPHE) I can comfortably claim it as our own.
Feel free to continue posting about how we are awful, bad carebears that are about to disband our alliance.

Hi CB,
listen, I get how we're that first girl you really ever loved and we promised to never leave you just before dumping you via email and you won't ever get over us, thus eventually leading to your slow, albeit dramatically entertaining downfall.
What I am less than able to get is how you fell in love with us in the first place, because we're not that hot at all, we're literally that 4am last resort bootycall. We know we could loose more than a few pounds or finally have a doctor look at that skin condition developing on our lower back, but couldn't really be bothered. And seriously, who would care about our lower back when we haven't even waxed our junk because bending over and lifting our fupa to access it would cause us shortness of breath and whatnot.
Seriously, CB, there are so many fish in the sea. Why us?
Why.

Oh man I remember when we had five systems. That was awesome. That really takes me back man.
Oh and according to DOTLAN, WN lost like FORTY FIVE SYSTEMS in the last month or two. You'll NEVER see SM'SA losing that many systems. That's just not how we roll. And our internet numbers are just so much bigger than WN. Ergo, we are definitely better than WN. End of discussion.
And we definitely have 'must stay docked when hostiles are in pocket orders'. It's how I keep whelping domi fleets in pocket to EVOKE and SP and anyone else who will come shoot me. Because they're docked. In the station. And....the lazers....they.....shoot....inside..the..station? Wait a minute that doesn't make sense.......Oh wait I remember I remember - you're nuts.
