So, I frequent a few different forums. One forum I love to read is overclock.net as a source of good tech information and to keep up on things that are relevant to my interests. We have a freebies topic on our forum where people can post that they have free stuff to give away, from hardware to software etc. Free 21-day EVE trials have been incredibly popular, with many players seeming to just spam that area up.
Since the declaration that PLEX are on hold as a reward, they have disappeared completely. This is not only disheartening, but it seems like the EVE population has seen a change. The EVE promotions to gather new players are still totally good (you get 30 days of free game time for inviting a player who pays!) yet since they cannot turn it into a tangible ingame benefit instantly, they have somehow completely disappeared on this forum.
Has anybody experienced a similar trend on a particular forum or forums you read? I hope this is not a continuing trend, as I would hate to see player reachout to diminish.

I guess CCP general strategy right now is to lower amount of players in the game. Overwise I cannot explain strange NeX shop, discontinued PLEX reward, un-finished Incarna release, lack of serious space content updates, etc.
Probably they count on massive flood of Japanese players after adapted version release.

The PLEX reward was an experiment under testing, and as they said it will probably be back later on. HOWEVER the offer of 30 days game time still exist which means that you still get a very nice bonus if you recruit a new player. |

no the goal is more players -shiny Incarna feature, even if unfinished still gives newer players a more tangible persona which has been an issue in the past for a lot of ppl just trying the game "I'm just a ship? that sucks..." -totally redo tutorial system, all voiced by a new Aura (which we haven't had since QR) -NeX shop is part of the "ooo shiny" part to attract new players -lack of space content updates don't matter to newbs when they still have all the rest of EVE to catch up on, the only thing I've seen my newb friend complain about is maybe font size and the warp effect going missing. They don't have any reason to care if they don't know certain aspects are "broken" to begin with.
