Hey guys, maybe i'm still stuck in the dark ages..
On my old PC, i used Ulead Video Studio 11 Pro to make my videos, i then followed the post by Osiris Occido, he mentioned that you could create profiles and all that shizz.
I have a new PC, this time it has windows 7 and 64bit etc etc. I installed the Windows media encoder 9 x32 by mistake first, and it came up with errors as expected. I then removed it, and downloaded the x64 version, now this will not install, it goes through part of the installer and then stops with an error message, and backtracks all the installation.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening, how to fix it, or another encoder i can use to make profiles for my videos so that i don't have to use ****ty video qualities. -Buhhd

Microsoft Expressions
The above link lets you download the 'replacement' for MS Media Encoder.
Doesn't Ulead Video Studio 11 Pro let you encode to HD?
Basic question, but did you clear the registry prior to install of the x64 to remove the x32?

Hey, no i haven't cleared the registry yet, you think that's the problem?
Also, i've tried downloading Microsoft Expressions, but it doesnt seem to have the same profile creation qualities as encoder 9. The reason i need it you see is for the "Profile Editor" bit. UVS11 encodes the videos itself, you just need the profile to do it with.

re: registry - I wouldn't exclude the possibility!
As for UVS11 - if I can find a trial of that I'll d/l it tonight and play with it to see what can be done about that.
You could also give me the profile basics like res, frame rate and I'll see if I can get you something useable/workable to help you out.

BP,
I can't install the Ulead trial, sorry.
"CCleaner" is a pretty good reg cleaner / fixer - I use it once a week.

Edited by: Jackaryas on 13/07/2011 13:09:02 You could always use something like Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas to create movies, they offer a lot of different output options. They are however, i guess a bit more complicated to use.
AllyKat created some tutorials for both of these somewhere im sure he has a link to them if they arnt in his sig :)
I also use Premiere so don't mind helping out if u need it
Edit:
Trials:
Premiere CS 5.5 Sony Vegas Pro 10
