Edited by: Tommy Machiavelli on 14/07/2011 13:08:57 Okay, so to preface this topic, I'm not one of the Chicken Little OMFG-the-sky-is-falling-in-Eve types. I'm not the biggest advocate of Incarna (as an expansion), but I haven't just given up on Eve by any means. I am a Mac player though, and I'm beginning to get pretty frustrated.
This forum is riddled with words like "unplayable," "unstable," and "frequent crashing." Seriously, read through the last 10-12 posts in the Mac forum. Personally, my client crashes enough that all I can do is log in to update trade orders and log off (and yes, I've already filed the bug report).
Can anyone from CCP at least confirm that they are looking at the stability of the Mac client? There seems to be a WIDE array of null very null significant errors that have no mention in patch notes or known issues. I'm sure the entire Mac community would be very grateful for the support. |

You donĘt get many blue posts to pilots in here, CCP give off the impression that the Mac client was created and if they could go back in time they would have decided not to bother with it. I'm not saying this is how it is, but actions can sometimes be much louder than words.

Agreed. That was the main reason I started this thread. Wanted to see CCP acknowledgement that the Mac client has been SEVERELY affected by Incarna, to the point where many can't play. Haven't heard any comment from them about any of these issues.

Edited by: Tao Teh on 14/07/2011 17:59:05 Edited by: Tao Teh on 14/07/2011 17:56:13 Running fine here. the first thing I did was turn off that 3D rubbish. so just a static background image in station, which suits me fine. And I turn all the graphics to low, and turn any fancy stuff off. In-game turn show brackets off, or at least limit the amount of stuff showing in space.

It is worth noting that the Eve Client on mac, is essentially the same as the Windoze version, it is just running in a Wine skin - google wine, winebottle etc to understand what this tech is. Obviously they prob do a few tweeks.
I am able to run Eve, Teamspeak and VMWare running EVEMon all at the same time.

I am getting constant "freezes" within minutes of logging on and I simply can't do anything, I can't view my Character Sheet, can't view the Market, can't see any modules/rigs in Fittings, I can't Undock my ship and moreover I can't even raise an in game Petition!
This started happening to me about 2-3 days ago and my gameplay is now ZERO as all I can do is just look at the station wall (I turned off the CQ animation as that was p***ing me off waiting 20-30 seconds watching "loading" every time I docked).
CCP needs to step up to the mark and fix these Mac issues NOW!
This is unacceptable for a fee charging game.
(this is about the 3rd or 4th thread I have posted a similar comment to in the past 15 minutes, there seems to be a whole lot of people all in the same boat and so far CCP appears to have run off with the life-jackets as far as Mac users are concerned!)

That would be a "No". I raised a petition about Character Customisation crashing every time I run it, and they came back and told me to run DXDiag from the Windows Run Menu. I told them I was running the Mac client and gave them the spec of my mac, and the same "senior GM" came back and asked me to run DXDiag from the Windows Run menu. So even when they're reading a petition they're not listening.

I've seen no evidence. Can't even get a reply on a thread that's been up for weeks about the seriously broken turret issue. Industry is painful when your corp BPO stack includes many turrets...
