I've been sporadically reading MD for some time. What always has amazed me is the the amount of scamming going on. We all know that CCP doesn't get involved in something they consider part of the intended economical landscape.
This brings me to my question. Is there some kind of forum that includes moderation to keep out shady operations (and I don't equal unknown with shady here) - something that includes basic vetting of the participants and consequently cuts down on the "noise"?

Aside from poorly put together offerings, I very seldom see scams here. Just because it's made so poorly you won't invest doesn't mean it's a scam. HTFU

Edited by: Llambda on 15/07/2011 17:20:02 I would like a separate investments forum, personally. Not moderated, just something that would corral all of the exceedingly dull IPOs/loan requests away from the actual discussions about the market.

How?
How would you evaluate "trusted?" And some of the most successful bonds started out looking shady, and some of the seemingly secure ones were just massive scams. Something like this would just create an artificial layer of security around investments.
Now I do think we need a separate forum for investing, but that's another issue. --------------------------------------- Tigerras's Audits and Third-Party Servicing |

I'm not asking How? in terms of trust but how are you going to weed out the scam offerings from legit offerings? I could create another alt and start a new offering with a nicely written up bull****s and it would win the crowd over. Compared to the next guy who writes up a crappy offering because his English sucks and he would never get anybody to invest because you've determined his offering to be too shady for the investment forum.
