ishtar has better align time, also speedtanking allows you to put 3 drone damage mods and still have a good tank. Currently i fly:
[Ishtar, ktest] civilian gun 2x Salvager I
Large Peroxide Capacitor Power Cell 2x Federation Navy Omnidirectional Tracking Link Experimental 10MN Afterburner I Cap Recharger II
Medium Armor Repairer II Shadow Serpentis Armor Kinetic Hardener 3x Drone Damage Amplifier II
Medium Anti-Kinetic Pump I Medium Anti-Thermic Pump I
5x Garde II
that's for gurista. over400dps tank, but it's mostly speedtank anyway.
691 dps at V
for belts you have talos with about 1k dps and very helpful drones. Basically 3 purger rigs, 2 kinetic hardeners, LSE II, MWD. 2 TE 2 magstabs, nano |

if i wanted to just sit down and farm anoms/belts for 2 hours would i be better off with domi or ishtar with being able to clear any size anom with out trouble
or would both be able to do this?

Ishtar doesn't even break sweat in serp and guristas anoms. Fit guns for more dps & fun.

Or do you just orbit your drones and hope aggro sticks to you?
I have seen domi set ups with RR to rep drones which seems like a good idea.
Personally I like a Typhoon, a full flight of sentries, plus guns and/or missiles. It is harder to tank though. if you go with the smaller large AC's and heavy missile launchers you get good applied DPS, no issues taking out smaller targets, and plenty of PG for a dual rep tank. It seems T2 HM's average almost the same applied DPS as T2 cruise once you factor in the lost damage from the frigates and cruisers. Have not found a built proof fit yet but I'm still testing. lots of fun to fly though. |

It seems devs have been messing with the AI giving elite NPC's AI more like sleepers where they can switch targets mid fight. Even target multiple enemies. Been seeing this in level 4's since the last patch. Personally I like a Typhoon, a full flight of sentries, plus guns and/or missiles. you need to get aggro first (that's what civilian gun is for. When you have aggro you deploy drones. If you live in gurista space you can do forlorn hub which don't aggress drones, so you can deploy and orbit a can afk |

Unless you have Gallente battleship V, the Ishtar will do more damage without DDA's.
Unless you put guns on the Domi. |

Dude,
As a heavy drone pilot I am also concerned about the AI changes. But even I have gotta say you constant "sky is falling" posts are getting old.
Bottom line is none of us knows the effect until we can test it. Current examples are inaccurate. CCP has already said the AI will not be the same as WH AI or incursion AI (I know how much sleepers hate drones but i cannot say on incursions as ive not flown them).
So in a few weeks hopefully we can actually test the AI and give CCP real feedback, rather than posting empty chicken little replies. |

Either can work but I'd personally go with an Ishtar.
Domi = bigger tank but it also needs it -- cruiser vs battleship as a target. Domi is also slower moving and slower to align.
Damage wise, a Domi can do a little more because it can fit more guns but guns for either of them are mostly optional -- they are both drone boats but guns do help if you aren't trying for AFK. AFK wise -- I'd advise against getting comfortable being as the AI will be changing.
"Functional" for either is not that expensive - even going navy on a domi. As such, if you do hit issues with trying it - just switch across. We're not talking about ships that tend to fit deadspace out the wazoo to get the job done (like Tengu's or Nighthawks and the like). Any faction specific hardeners are pretty cheap - EANM style for omni tank? Those will hit you with some sticker shock but not specific hardeners. (I think I spent like 10 mill for deadspace specific hardeners on my old navy domi. Folks said *BLING* but it wasn't that expensive).
Again, I'd go with an Ishtar. |

I'm very much liking my domis. Well I use 2 chars in domis warping in at 85km and just snipe snipe snipe. Your boat get away with a light tank 20M ticks on both characters.
And this setup will survive the AI upgrade, because even if they target the sentries I'm so far out rats don't hit for much.
