Edited by: Emoh Aidem on 17/07/2011 08:45:52 Earlier today Hilen Tukoss meet with Republic Fleet Vice Admiral Silonneri Balginia in the Ebolfer system. Also at the time a high ranking member of the Syndicate was also spoted in the system and attacked.
The following was passed to me via private courier from the minutes from the meeting in question.
[ 2011.07.17 07:13:40 ] Silonneri Balginia > Yes, well. Anyhow. Perhaps you can begin by giving your account of the events that occured earlier in Eram.
[ 2011.07.17 07:14:19 ] Hilen Tukoss > As I said, a Khanid arrived to deliver a message. I assume it was a warning, and one given from someone sympathetic to our research project.
[ 2011.07.17 07:14:59 ] Hilen Tukoss > They...gave the impression of that, anyhow. I don't believe they were speaking for the Empire at large, or anything of the sort. I've discussed it with other members who agree.
[ 2011.07.17 07:17:19 ] Silonneri Balginia > We have Khanid officers slipping past Republic Fleet lines into Eram, and it is because of your presence, Doctor. [ 2011.07.17 07:18:33 ] Silonneri Balginia > I'm told a squadron of Serpentis intelligence agents have been sighted a few jumps from our location.
[ 2011.07.17 07:18:53 ] Silonneri Balginia > You have any number of known pirate loyalists amongst your ranks as well.
[ 2011.07.17 07:20:22 ] Silonneri Balginia > There is serious concern amongst the tribes that your location in Eram will only serve as a catalyst for rising conflict.
[ 2011.07.17 07:21:05 ] Silonneri Balginia > And to place a research project of this nature within a system frequented by civilian traffic and other non-combatants is only asking for one disaster or another to happen.
[ 2011.07.17 07:22:33 ] Hilen Tukoss > Well, what is your advice, Ms Balginia?
[ 2011.07.17 07:23:30 ] Silonneri Balginia > My advice is to begin considerations for ... relocation, away from anywhere your research might cause trouble to bystanders.
[ 2011.07.17 07:25:04 ] Hilen Tukoss > And what of the current research departments at Eram?
[ 2011.07.17 07:25:39 ] Silonneri Balginia > Naturally, they will have to follow with you, if that is necessary. Otherwise, they will remain in Eram.
[ 2011.07.17 07:27:52 ] Hilen Tukoss > Well, of course they're necessary. I don't see how I can relocate so soon, though. Is this coming directly from the Krusual, or...who is this coming from?
[ 2011.07.17 07:28:17 ] Silonneri Balginia > The Thukker have offered to take you, under certain conditions, which IĈm relaying now.[ 2011.07.17 07:29:04 ] Hilen Tukoss > Ms. Balginia...there is no way we can accept those terms.
[ 2011.07.17 07:29:09 ] Silonneri Balginia > Then you will only make the situation more difficult.
[ 2011.07.17 07:30:14 ] Silonneri Balginia > I've delivered my advice, Mr. Tukoss. My task here is done. Now I have your mess to clean up elsewhere.
The meeting ended at that point.

Things always get worse before they get better.. of course, 'good' and 'bad' in this instance depends completely on one's perspective.

On reflection, the admiral presents a reasonable argument.
Beginning the project with a high-profile defection injected political childishness into an ostensibly scientific venture. The animosity generated accelerated interest in the project by organizations drawn to treasure and glory. Moreover, Kuvakei will take a shine to the Doctor's path, close as it hews to his own - turning any system with Tukoss into a "standing nail" for Nation's hammer. The Wildlands seem a uniquely suitable tumbler to mix bickering cliques with cybernetic catastrophe - accidental and sublime.

To my knowledge, no member of the Intaki Syndicate was present in the system during this meeting. Perhaps you are thinking of Ms. Aerte Benset, a member of the Serpentis Corporation? ----------------------------------------------

Noted and corrected, I must have transposed the wrong name after taking note of the standings between Syndicate and Serpentis.
