Have there been any expeditions so as to ascertain the location of Sansha's Incursion launching base? If I'm not mistaken, the Jovian system that he held is no longer is his possession, and if there were massive shipyards in Stain, capsuleers would undoubtedly know about it. That leaves wormholes: Could he have a massive shipbuilding complex in a wormhole? Since he has obviously been known to generate wormholes himself, this is the most plausible, I think.
Anyone else have any ideas? |

I'm actually not sure we're aware of all the shipyard installations out there - even before the Seylinn incident and the Nation resurgence, Sansha's Nation had to be pumping out a truly awe-inspiring number of ships to sustain the losses inflicted by capsuleers.
Note: While I personally find the ability to replace every rat lost in EVE (belt rats, mission rats, complex rats... the numbers quickly hit the tens of thousands) to be somewhat out-of-line with PF and what would be reaonably possible; however, even looking at a fraction of those losses, it becomes quite clear that Sansha's Nation along with all the other pirate factions must have an extensive production network neither we nor CONCORD are fully aware of. ----------------------------------------------

As far as I know, Kuvakei held the Jovian capital system only for a short period of time for a very specific purpose. That purpose most likely involves the Jovian Directorate and retrieval of its advanced technology. The Nation has no real incentive in capturing enemy systems since it is space bound for the most part anyway, similar to the Thukker. --------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Ghost Hunter on 19/07/2011 04:49:22 The Shipyard station models don't exist just because the names are cool. Deadspace complex facilities aside, the very same stations that players inhabit contribute to every pirate faction's major operations. Indeed, there is probably some kind of circle where spare equipment Capsuleers take from the pirates they destroyed ends up back in their hands at the end of the day.
Not to mention those refinery taxes, office fees, and what not. ______

I agree with Ghost. New Eden possesses a great number of manufacturing facilities. Due to the nature of it's free market and black market ecomonies, it is quite likely that there are manufacturing interests of, say, the Caldari State, that help to support pirate fleets, as well as Gallente Navy fleets.
