After reading the dev blog "chronicles: with acknowledgments to mad dogs" by CCP Abraxaxs, my thoughts were aligned to the idea and encourage ISD's to create a background page on each character like that of Publius Valerias. It was the chronicles as well as novels, novellas and game news that helped me understand the background of the environment which in turn caused me to have my characters fit in to the environment rather than role play. It's kind of like learning history lessons in school so that we can fit in to the environment we are in out-game. Learning and understanding the history of each character as well as the background history of each NPC corporation on stations and factions would become second nature as players generally would be able to see the world as it is in EVE be part of it.
That said, it would be very interesting to see some characters that were in the chronicles, as well as novels and novellas, and be able to interact with them accordingly, provided that they are played by their creator. Imagine seeing Tibus Heth or Jamyl Sarum in a station in Incarna for instance. It would send a chilling but thrilling excitement in some players. Investor |

You realise you can contribute to the game lore yourself in the Evelopedia. They more people that add those little pieces they know about the better.

I just want to add that each player is like an author and puppeteer of their character(s). Players would understand the background of the environment and the characters within them without having to role play. This is similar to being yourself in the real world out game. Investor |

Ok, Mr. Mossari, I will try that also. Thank you much.
One place you might want to start is looking into the News Archives for characters you find interesting and fleshing out their Biographies in the Evelopedia.

Edited by: Khaiyim Brooks on 21/07/2011 03:48:14 Edited by: Khaiyim Brooks on 21/07/2011 03:46:45 I found another path of finding background information on characters. For NPC Characters, follow this direction and you will find eight subcategories and a list of NPC Characters:
Evelopedia > Malaetu Shakor > Scroll page all the way down to: NPC Characters
For Player Characters, follow this direction and you will find over 200 Player Characters with a background on each:
Eveonline folder > Backstory > Organizations > Corporations in the Amarr Empire > Scroll page all the way down to: Publius Valerius > Scroll page all the way down to: Pod Pilots
Your idea, Mr. Mossari, on the news archives will develop more NPC Characters, which will be good. A mixture of Non-player Character and Player Characters will educate players futher on the history of the environment.
As for players being the character of their chosing and play in game without role playing is another story. I encourage it nevertheless because it will make the environment more real as life itself. Investor |

Also, for Player Stories, follow this direction and you will find player created fiction or stories created by players in the subcategory:
Eveonline folder in the EVEonline website > Backstory > Organizations > Corporations in the Amarr Empire > Scroll page all the way down to: Publius Valerius > Scroll page all the way down to: Pod Pilots > Scroll page all the way down to: Fiction Investor |

Edited by: Khaiyim Brooks on 21/07/2011 13:39:54 If permitted by CCP, True Slaves of Master Kuvakei would be designed by an account holder(s) who have experience in graphic designing. Once finished, each True Slave character would be transferred to another account of another owner who would direct it. The idea is to have True Slaves who would look like that of True Slaves in Tom's chronicle "200 Rounds" to encounter players as a group in a fleet. There are NPC True Slaves now and it may be possible to bring them to life by including PC True Slaves. More on being and directing the characters created in another thread. Investor |
