Edited by: xander keegan on 18/07/2011 17:17:33 serous graphics problem
So today i logged on in eve online, and i hear my graphics card making allot of noise and i see that my textures on my ship and stations are extremely low resolution and allot of glitchyness going on, i check my Ati Catalyst Control and notice that my card was running at 85¦c (185¦F) and fan speed at 100%, i paniced and immediately closed eve online because it was almost melting my graphics card this is what i saw: the captains quarter, full of glitches and low resolution textures (no lag) and this is "my ship" in space you cant see my ship tho because you can only see lights and they overlap when i move around so my after looking around a bit everything colores white
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit processor: AMD athlon II x4 620 (4 CPUs),~2.6GHz memory: 4096MB RAM GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5670 (512mb) resolution: 1920 x 1080 (32bit)(60Hz)
i had no problems at all until today (18/07/2011) eve is not playable at all for me now please help, thank you in advance

update your graphics drivers and run repair.exe in the eve folder if you have not done both of these already Signature removed. Discussing warnings or bans in your signature is not permitted. |

Edited by: Chandaris on 18/07/2011 17:29:50 also; if your card is making noise, it probably isn't cooling properly.. the fan is likely grinding.. if that's the case you will probably need to replace the card (or fan) Signature removed. Discussing warnings or bans in your signature is not permitted. |

List your cooling as well, you can't be using stock cooling with that. Well you can, if you also want a cook top...
Also there is a support thread for this you should be posting in.

i would start testing the card as texture coruption can be a bad sign . Download furmark to make sure your graphics card is stable and running fine.
your temp for load is maybe a tad higher than average but looks to be within spec .
so test the card make sure it runs furmark fine .
check your driver i reccomend the 11.5's at the moment . your mileage may vary however.
and if your card fails fur mark call the manufacture hopefully its still under warranty and you can get a replacement

I had similar graphical issues. With the addition of tearing textures on the ship and models into infinity when in space.
It lasted for a few days and than one day after restart windows simply would not start. Graphic card died...

You recommend 11.5 over 11.6?

at the moment . i have not tested the 11.6's yet i just now there still releasing hot fixes for them and remember some issues in them that i was uncomfortable with for what ever reason . but they probably are just as good if not better than the 11.5's main point is that the 11.5s are working here . and if the 11.6 are working also then great !! :) music the paint dance floor the canvas your body the brush |

my graphics card is fine, all other games (gta4, Mirrors edge, crysis, assasins creed 2, track mania,...) run smoothly without any problems or overheating

furmark is a lot easier to download and run than loading and running through all those games ..
but if your convinced the card is fine then wait your 3 hours and see . music the paint dance floor the canvas your body the brush |

There are a lot of raging morons on the EVE-O forums. Sweet Jane Liche is one of them.
Just ignore them.

First of all do NOT use Furmark with ATI cards, especially with HD series. It is known to make them run really hot. Use Heaven Benchmark instead, much safer and will stress GPU at 100%.
This looks like driver problem or memories on card getting too hot. If You know how, take the card out and dust it off. Clean the fan with some cotton buds then blow few times inside the card through the fan.

Turn off bloom and hdr effects - bloom especially as that freaks my gf ATI card out. She had all sorts of weirdness till i turned the graphics down. Will step it all back up eventually and really find the culprit - it is to do with new driver versions though, again needs to be investigated properly (one day).

If you can help it at all, don't have any cards seated next to your video card, give it at least 1 slot's worth of room for the fan to work properly. I fried one ATI card because I had another one in the adjacent PCI slot, melted the other card too. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

I had similiar problem. Try to turn off AA and AF in CCC. Just set it to application preferences.

Technically speaking, you should be setting to application preference anyways. It is preferred by both the hardware vendor and the game developer in many cases to allow the game's implementation to control AF/AA rather than forcing an override.

OMG you are right, i forced them a few days ago to gain performance in crysis, now i put them back to application preference and the problems are gone!, thank you so much :D

I also had this problem, ship and station graphics were low res even though I had all settings on high. ATI 5800 series card. I went into CCC and saw that Catalyst AI was on and the MipMap slider was all the way on low. Turned off the AI and slid the mipmap slider to Highest, and the graphics are back to sharp and pretty :). Now.. do I know which of the two did the trick? no... I'll play with it later and figure that out but I'm suspecting it's the mipmap slider.
