Just wondering if it's possible to see how long one has been online. Like in WoW you just type /played and it tells you. And asking the girlfriend is a no go, hehe she'd just say TOO LONG _______________________________________________

If you're worried about how long you've been online, do one of the following.
A; get rid of any nagging girlfriend.....believe me, your life in EVE will be sooo much enhanced with that "problem" dissolved.
B; if said nagging gf won't just go away....get her her own eve account, then pod her if she won't shaddup.
C; run your game in windowed mode so you can see the CLOCK in the lower right part of your screen

I remember in a devchat a dev (oveur?) telling one of the participants how many hours he had been online. So guess the option is there, but only for GMs?

guys.. the devs spent years tuning the server and nodes so things will go just a tad bit smother. And you want to add a counter? I'm sure eve-I can come up whit something outside the game if it's required. SoonÖ

Yes, they can see how long time you spent logged in, thats why I think that a feature like that is possible. Only problem is if the time spent to do something like that is worth it? I'd think that it wouldn't be hard to implement, but then I've thought easy features were very difficult and hard features were really easy. I could definately be wrong this time as well.

Dark Age of Camelot has this feature. The player just types "/played" and hits return and you get a readout saying how many days, hours, minutes you have spent in-game with that toon. My main toon in DAoC spen 250+ days worth of time in-game withing 3 years of the game being on the market. i avoid real life :)

Dear god... No!!!
I'm half scared to see how much time I've wasted just chatting on EVE and not really doing much else...
Seriously, I wouldn't mind such a tool... it would help anyone who's finding themselves addicted to regulate their online time a bit.

You spent 2/3rds of a year playing a game during a 3 year period!? Dear GOD... That means you spent as much time playing as you did SLEEPING! ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

Nah. Thats not that much.
I'd estimate my game play at over 5000 hours, or around 8 hours per day since may 6th 2003. So, by all means...
I have no life. :P Ah, the life of a college student. --------

There is a program called Xfire that tracks all your online friends and lets you join whatever game they are playing.
That is excellent, it also records your playing time on every game and publishes it on the web.
37 hours to complete KOTOR2 in 1 week coupled with 20 hours of Eve.
