I've been talking with the people I pvp regularly with, and it would appear that CCP has changed something in the code that makes it a lot harder to get your pod out when you lose a ship. I've lost maybe 2 clones a year in the last five; usually in a bubble. Now in the past month I've had my pod locked up every time with the last three ships I've lost. Anyone else having issues with this?
Someone was telling me that if you have your ship aligned before you blow up helps. If that's the case it seems like the ships agility is getting handed off to the pod or something.
Anyway, that brings up another issue. The price of high end clones seems a bit high to me. I know they lowered them across the board a few years back, but I'm thinking it's still excessive. I don't mind losing the implants, I choose what to put in my head, but my clones cost me 30 mil a piece. It'll be 45 mil each within a year. Sure I can fly lots of ships, but my earning potential isn't any greater then a 2 year old player. So why the ridiculous price tag for getting podded? Especially now that it's quite likely to happen?

If 45 m isk to too much, I'd suggest honestly stop pvping for awhile. It is an isk sink, one that could be raised.

what is the 45 million compared to the 2+ billion for the implants???
As for pods, I have lost a fair share of them in low sec do to lag on my side when the ship popped and from a session change from ship to pod and being caught on gate.
But the pod cost are fine as is for me, I would rather see more isk pulled out of the game.

I LOVE popping pods, but instawarp should work as intended. The risk of a bubble is sufficient.
If CCP changed this, they suck. Oh wait, they already suck. Well they suck more, then.

Bad code sneaks through every single major implementation that has been released, I have got my pod out every time since patch but the lag is quite severe even zoomed out with screen shake off it still makes one quite paranoid and that's with FIOS.
Don't expect it to be fixed in any short order if at all. Clone prices are BS as well, haven't lost one in a long time but on days that id like to jump into an empty clone and go solo into null with an inty I have to remember that the clone makes the package cost more than a fully fit battle cruiser.

I don't run 2 billion in implants. I don't buy GTC. I don't buy or sell plex. I have one account. I have one character. I don't bot. I also don't spend 12 hours a day online. I spend a couple after work usually. Maybe four on a week end. I make decent isk, I just don't spend a whole lot of time grinding for it. I don't fly exceptionally expensive ships either. Not usually.
Why should a clean clone cost more then a BC hull? The isk sink is in the implants. (not to mention the ships and modules.) How much I want to risk every time I go out for pvp should be my option. It's not right now. Why are older players punished, just for having been around? Long term does not always mean rich.
Edit: And keep in mind it's not really an issue if I can get my pod out. This hasn't been the case of late.

Old character does not mean rich, you are right.
That said....the prices are extraordinarily fair. You'd have to be losing a lot of pods for it to matter.
My main is constantly PvPing in 0.0 sec (bubble hell) and I rarely lose more than 1-2 pods a month. Whats that? 90M? Peanuts. Go run a couple anamolies.

I've lost 3 pods in 2 weeks. Something has changed in the code. Glitch or intended I dunno.

I haven't noticed anything different with my pods, but CCP is very fond of constantly introducing new bugs. So I wouldn't doubt there is something there....

Hoping this isn't a bug tbh, it should be risky, not "oh i'll fly around lowsec with HG implants 99.9% safe (unless drunk of course)
More pods need to pop.

I don't know about the pod alignment issue, but I agree clone replacement is too expensive for a casual player. I know ISK needs to be taken out of the economy, but I wish they'd find a way that doesn't keep more people from engaging in PvP. I thought CCP WANTS us to PvP, after all.
My solution for you - don't PvP in your money-making main. Keep him a carebear in a highsec, NPC corp. Create an SP-capped PvP pilot. He can be on same account - just put training on him up to an SP level where you're comfortable losing clones 2-3 times a week.

I'm not trying to be rude, but you suggestion is that I start training all over? Doesn't that seem a little silly? It's like 2 years to max all the pvp support skills. I mean yeah that puts me back down around 30 mil sp, but what was the point of training them all in the first place?
I still maintain that the risk should be up to the player to decide and the cost shouldn't be so heavily in the clone. I mean clones are dirt cheap right up to about 25 mil sp. Why does the price ramp up exponentially after that? Sure higher end clones should cost more, but how about a reasonable progression in price?

There is certainly a change since the 2nd patch after Incarna that is affecting pod warps once ships die. I've lost 2 pods on an alt that would not warp after the ship was destroyed.

There is a difference between "risky" and "free" kills because your pod is stuck on grid so long that a non sensor boosted BC can lock it.

Baseless whine following a patch .... on my Eve-O??!?
If you're lagging that badly after a ship loss, I suggest you looking at your client (graphical settings) and local internet. Also? I just tricked you into reading my signature. |

It's been reported by several people and I have experienced it myself. The new UI code is a failure and amongst other issues, leads to issues like this.

Yes there does seem to be a lag issue. I didn't lose a pod but I think I was just lucky. My pod did not warp as fast as it used to.
Losing pods just discourages people from pvping.
First we had a decrease in pvp after the insurance nerf now we are going to have a decrease due to pod lag.
I have lost expensive implants in the past but that is all relative. For some people losing a set of plus 3s is a really tough loss. Moreover, if you have skills you want to train you may not want to jump into the clone with the bad implants. So you stay in high sec with the better implants.
Pod kills in general just leads to less pvp.
That is why I voted against showing pod kills on killmails. Doing that just creates an incentive for people who care about isk ratios to gun for pods.
I hope ccp does something about this. -Cearain

While I in particular haven't had an specific issues with pods warping out, I have noticed that the UI is very unresponsive. For example, I've had multiple times on gate where I'm coming out of warp and I'm spam clicking the jump button, and I can sit there spam clicking for as long as I want (one time I kept clicking it for about a minute, just sitting on gate), and I still won't jump until I stop clicking, wait a second or two, then click once.
I'm not sure if this is some sort of intentional coding to discourage button spamming, but I think it's a little ridiculous, and seems to me just to be very poor coding for the UI and the buttons.
I would assume that this applies the warp buttons etc... and is what you guys are seeing with being unable to warp out your pods.
