For YEARS it was a bannable offence to jump corp in the middle of a war for the sole purpose to avoid the war. About 6 months ago they changed it and now itÆs no longer an offence. Ok FINE, then lets change the way war's work because of right now you war dec someone and everyone jumps the corp to a new one to avoid the war. This is nothing but a waist of ISK to declare war.
I propose that CCP changes the way warÆs work in regards to members leaving a corp. If you are currently in a war you can LEAVE said corp, however you will have a 72 hour aggression to the other corp that you are at war with, and cannot join another player corp till after that 72 hours is up. This way it will detour people from corp jumping to avoid a war, and if they still want to jump they can, but they are just not free and clear the min they jump.
Or you could make it so that people cannot leave a corp for 72 hours when in a war, However a tag or eve mail will need to be created to let the warring Corp know that members will be leaving the corp in 72 hours. The reason for this is to stop the exploit of everyone jumping corp 24 hours before the war has to be renewed. This is so the warring corp doesnÆt pay for the war to be renewed just to find out that everyone has jumped corp the next day.
Or even a 3rd option would be that if a corp is at war, you can ONLY leave corp 2 days before the war is to be renewed. You could leave the corp but it would not be final till 2 days before the renew of the war dec. Once renewed you are to stay in the corp till the next renew date.
Too many people use an ALT character to hold the corp so that everyone can jump corp. THIS MUST BE STOPPED!! Or at minimum make it so that wars do not cost any ISK, because this is just an ISK sink that CCP has created to make corpsÆ lose money and thatÆs it.
I know people are going to be like ôWell I should be able to leave when I wantö And you can, all I am asking for is a change in the way itÆs done. The game was created to have wars if you donÆt like it, and then stay in a newbie corp so you cannot get war decÆd. If you go to a corp you are accepting the fact that you may get war decÆd at some time and this is totally your choice.

In the 3 years I've been playing it's never been bannable to jump corp to avoid a wardec.
The only thing that is bannable is being in a war, joining an alliance, then leaving the alliance. The alliance is stuck with the war and your corp is no longer at war.
And like you mentioned, all this would do is cause more and more people to stay in NPC corps so they can not be touched unless they are ganked.
What is so hard about people playing EVE they way they want to? If they don't want to fight fine, if they do want to fight fine!

Actually, it was never considered an exploit at all. It is only an exploit if they instaquit a corp in a war with the intention of tricking someone into being ganked by concord.
Originally by: Tara Eradica This is nothing but a waist of ISK to declare war.
Just re-dec the new corp it's only 2 mil.

So basically you want CCP to make it possible to grief corps without them having a way out? Even if that's the case this doesn't even solve the problem because there's nothing stopping them just dropping to an NPC corp and returning later.
I agree war dec mechanics needs some work. However I don't know the best way to change them for the better. I do know that this isn't it. -- High & low sec mining corp - Now Recruiting! |

No.

No, if they ever did change that, it was at least four years ago.

Yes, it's meant to be something you have to think about for a bit: will the (tiny) cost be worth it?

Why? What's the problem you're trying to solve here?

Yes. Seems like it's working.

First off, yes it was a bannable offence, I myself have reported MANY and I mean MANY people for corp jumping and they have all received a temp ban up till about 6 months ago, then a GM said it was NO LONGER a bannable offence. So till just recently it was a Bannable offence!
2nd For every War you are in the cost in ISK goes up, so if you war dec 1 corp its 2M then 4M then ect. So yes for 1 corp its 2M but not if your at war with more than one.

It has NEVER been a bannable offense to leave a corp during a war. That is just stupid. Stop making up stories. You can't force someone to stay in a corp they do not want to be in no matter the reason. Period.
I have been playing since release. I have left and joined corps during wars many many many times. Never got banned. NO BOOBIES LEFT BEHIND! |

Then you got lucky. We have reported many people for corp hopping as well (two-three years ago) and told that it wasn't an offence.
The only thing that has ever been an offence is joining/leaving corps while in space so you can attack people and not leave them any chance to hit back. This has even been subject to a number of game-mechanics changes so that you now, unequivocally, have to make use of exploits to be able to do this.

I was just making a suggestion. I figured I would get a bunch of people that didn't have a clue what they was talking about, or miners that love jumping corps, or both! I want to hear from CCP not those people, they are going to be against it no matter what!
But yes it use to be a bannable offence to jump corp to avoid a war, it was totally up to the warring corp to report you. If you jumped corp and never got banned then you got lucky that nobody wanted to take the time to report you. I too have played this game since beta, so don't go telling me you know the rules when you don't. The rules have changed since then, all I am asking is for a change in the way War's work and corp jumping. I don't expect every one to agree, simply due to most people LOVE to corp jump and are nubs when it comes to war! If you don't want the risk of war stay in a nub corp its at simple as that.

àand yet, it didn't necessarily happen when you reported people, so it obviously wasn't nearly as clear and hard a policy as you are trying to make it out to be.
Quote: I too have played this game since beta, so don't go telling me you know the rules when you don't.
Why not, when what you're saying is obviously at odds with previous experiences? Again, it sounds more like you got lucky with the GMs than with it being some clear rule. In fact, it rather seems like the opposite: there was no rule, and at some point they made it clear to the GMs that the rule was "it's allowed".

Here is your answer from 1 year ago
http://eve-search.com/thread/1489916/page/1
Read the last ittalic part in the 1st post.
Quote: unfortunately there is little we can do in this case as joining and leaving a corporation is not considered an exploit. Even if it is done to avoid wars. Players are free to come and go as they please and if they do not wise to fight they can leave the corporation.
Quote:

Nope, sorry. I figured I would read a thread where the OP didn't have a clue what they was talking about.
edit: Of course the part part of that post indicates someone was banned for it. Another case of inconsistencies between GMs.
edit2: http://www.eveonline.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=2317&tid=1
It is bannable to surprise your war targets by joining or leaving while in space.

I loved how you contently left out this part
Quote: Hi,
This mail is sent to inform you that your EVE Online account *******, has been suspended for ignoring the instructions of a GM regarding the use of Corp-hopping to avoid war decs.
You have already been warned for this behavior and still you use the same tactic. The account has therefore been banned for three days. Please note that further violations of this sort will eventually lead to a permanent account ban.
If you feel the ban is not justified or you have something to add to the matter, please reply to this mail and we will respond as soon as possible.
Regards, GM Stardust EVE Online Customer Support"
GM Stardust says it is GM Ocelot says it isnÆt!
And is from the same link you posted you will notice that it all depends on what GM you seem to get. It seems that not all the GM's follow the same rules! I can sit here and quote a 1000's mgs as well showing were they say Yea, and a 1000 more were they say NA' But for the most part you uneducated people that want to talk about the past. I am not talking about the past I am talking about the future! So before today whatever happened doesnÆt matter a hill of beans! I am talking about the future and the changes that need to go into the War system. Its funny how many uneducated people try to hijack a thread.
So I will not reply to ANYTHING that has anything to do with the past before today. I want this to be a discussion of the FUTURE not the PAST! So get your head out of your!

The people will just stay in NPC corps so they can't be deced. You will end up with less targets and less pewpew. People will not tolerate being forced to do something they do not want to do. If they don't want to fight, they will do everything they can to avoid it including staying in NPC corps or even finding another game.

You have a point, and that is my point as well. If they do not want to fight, then they do not need to be in a corp. They can stay safely inside the nub corp. I would rather have less people in corps, at the same time knowing that if we go to war I will at least will have targets.
I would even be up to the idea of letting them have corps, but over X amount in corp then allows you to be attacked. This way lets say 10 People want to make a corp, then they can. If they go to 11 members then they can be war dec'd. This goes both ways it would also keep the 5 man corps from war dec'ing everyone because the 5 of them can beat everyone else.
I just feel the whole war / Corp thing needs to be revised or get rid of War's all together unless both parties are in an alliance.

This has been a major topic for years. Sadly, it has fallen on deaf ears at CCP.

What I see going on here is that you're possibly in a griefer corp that war dec's none pvp corps just to **** in the stats and kills. Unfortunately most of the people are leaving these said corp before the wardec hits, therefore, you don't get a bunch of each, concord free kills.
Whether you're in a griefer corp or not, it's greifer corps that destroy the foundation of true eve pvp by making many new players not want to pvp at all.
