"I give players what they want, not what they think they want." -Notch, Creator of Minecraft
People should just have faith in CCP. Whining and quitting at the first sight of something you don't like isn't going to do anything.
What I am saying is that if we all just give CCP a little time, they will be able to give us something that we will enjoy. Your image of EVE may be nice but is it practical, let alone possible?
CCP and other game developers take so many variables into account when making a game that will boggle your mind if you saw them all written down on a list.
They have said Incarna is just a gateway into something big for EVE. Instead of turning back right away, why don't we just step through the gate and see what CCP has for us?

People will whine, but it's not the same as quiting. For the few people actually posting on forums they don't all whine, and even less whine about quiting, and even less actually quit, and even less actually press the "cancel" button, and even less don't use their isk to convert plex into game time.
If you know what i mean.

If only the other 26,000 people that don't whine and complain suddenly decided to use the forums today just to +1 this. Wouldn't it be nice?
I'm happy in this boat. The ISK is flowing like a river, and best of all, it's flowing the way I want it to flow. Slow and steady. The chicks are hot. The ships are hot. The travel is decent. The price is right. (comparable to 1/4 of a cup of coffee per day)
Nice people finish last. Sad part is that most of the whiners don't understand that there is no finish line on EVE Online. So why try to pack 20 years worth of updates in 8 years? I know that DUST will make some console players curious about the PC side. You throw them a decent bone, they'll chew for years. ADHD aside, it's still possible to find a sprinkle of OCD among them.

the thing is they had years and years working on this only to hype the base with 1 room. and delayed the rest of them for how long now? The door wont open for a long, long time.
Look, they don't even fix bugs or leave something broken for a long time. Other things in the game need desperate attention, than clothes and other useless items. They deleted/remove things from the game that shouldn't have been removed. Maybe in 2014 for the new T3 hulls, and maybe a new POS system..
nothing is really added to the game or fixed, or CCP destroys something. I lour and shake my head at this entire expansion and the NEX ads I see everyday.

Famous last words of a cow (if cows could talk, anyway.)
CCP told me something different. They told me 'Hey dude, we're going to make an awesome and constantly improving, dark, harsh, immersive sandbox Internet Spaceships market/pvp game that takes an insanely long time to advance in. Are you up for that?'
And I said yes and began the long time-sink that is skill training.
Now they're unilaterally changing the agreement. They're lying. They're stealing. They're peeing on the vision they sold to me.
And that's not cool.

Yes, my bad. I was thinking average concurrent users every minute of every day. But you are right.
The reason I was thinking about that number is because some forum posters are on the forums more than they're on the game, so basically they're not really playing. Factored in bots, sidelined alts and rage quitters on their last days...
BTW, nice to meet you Akita. I think you're one of the more cool posters on the forums. Rest assured I'll keep you "visible" on the new forums.

It's called "being strung along", "stonewalled", "stalled" all for your continued monthly support.
They've always said they're going to put out great things. Great to them. Great once upon a time. Patch after patch they say, hint or suggest this.
We're on the downslope of that greatness.
Having a CEO that just doesn't get the social/communication side of his job is doing the most damage right now beyond lack of invigorating content.

CCP and other game developers take so many variables into account when making a game that will boggle your mind if you saw them all written down on a list.
They have said Incarna is just a gateway into something big for EVE. Instead of turning back right away, why don't we just step through the gate and see what CCP has for us?
I like Incarna, or at least the idea of it, what it promises, and I don't at all mind that it's in a primitive state just now, I'm pretty confident CCP will add to it over time and make it a multiplayer feature. Nor is it a problem for my comp - smooth as a baby's bottom, quick loading (and my comp's 2 years old).
Wrt Incarna itself, the main reason for whining is (I think) that it's not an option from Station view as was promised (i.e. a button beside "Undock").
Wrt the general direction the game is headed, a lot of people are peed off that the nature of the game looks like it's going to change. It's not just *****ing about some feature one doesn't like; it's a more like a worry over the direction the game is headed at a deep level (i.e. loss of the sandboxy/virtual world element).
I used to have faith in CCP - precisely because I thought they were developers who were brave enough to give players what they really wanted instead of what they thought they wanted. People think they want an easy game, but actually a difficult game is more satisfying. People think they want a PvP arena for quick pew pew, but actually a virtual world, that makes them feel they're affecting it (and their fellow players), is more satisfying.
I used to think CCP were committed to that.
Now, not so much. Now it looks like they're committed to making it easier, shinier, and monetizing it as much as they can. That is, in fact, giving people what they think they want - only, not the people who've sunk time into EVE so far, but rather another bunch of people whom CCP hope to attract, by giving them what they think they want (easy advancement, for example; uberness out of the box, etc.)
The people who have sunk sh*tloads of time into the EVE so far, who made it a famous game, apparently CCP could care less about. "So long, suckers", seems to be their attitude. *****

Yes clearly CCP are literally the same as the guards at Auschwitz and choosing to develop a pretend spaceship game in a certain way is literally the same as the murder of 6 million humans.

8 years ago the players joined Eve with no MT and saw that it was good.
1 year ago CCP said "No, MT ever". The players rejoiced and saw that it was good.
5 - 6mos ago CCP said "Let the be vanity MT" and the players said "Yeah, ok, that's cool just so long as we understand each other" and they saw that it was good.
Less than a month ago CCP said "We're talking about non-vanity." and the players said "That's BS" and saw that it was utter crap.
That same time CQ had been introduced rendering many players' computers obsolete over night, overheated others' computers to unplayable levels, killed some computers and lacked any sense of grand design as seen in previous WiS incarnations. The players saw this was utter crap too.

To be honest, even though Notch has now become a 'company' and has several people employed, he maintains his product.
CCP doesn't fix bugs in a timely fashion. They plans are too grand and always seem to have a half-assembled feel to them.
When Mincraft went from a cheesy web-game to a pay-to-play as an ALPHA game, I held my money. It felt like a potential scam on what was being promised and what I had seen. However, it soon became apparent that this thing was really going to work, so I bought it. (Three copies now actually, me and two kids). This was still and alpha game, but it was coming to be something incredible.
Even after going to Beta, problems with the game were addressed quickly (usually hours, once in a while it took a day to two), but the game works and the bugs get addressed right away!
CCP appears to suffer from the belief that a C+ grade is good enough on many things with very update patch lately a mass of bugs. There are still a ton of little bugs floating around the game and there is no word on if or when they will be fixed. Right now I am back to the point that I was with Minecraft, it is all a scam. The difference here is that I have little faith that putting more money to the project at this time is a smart investment.
Looking back at Incarna, I think I would have been far more likely to stay had they said, "Hey this is only 1/4th done, there are a ton of bugs, and we are not going to make you all playtesters. We are going to wait." But they didn't. They broke the game, made it a massive resource hog and then dragged their feet for days afterwards after ****ing off the community.
I have 6 days left on this, my last account, and the only thing I might consider doing is coming back after January and see if an additional six months of time has done anything to fix this now badly damaged game. To ask for patients, understanding, and an additional $90 to wait that six months is unrealistic. . I'm as mad as I can take it and I'm not going to hell anymore!
I have reassigned my money for CCP to other projects for the next 18 months... |

What sh**y computers are you people using that this low requirement game is melting your rigs? Crying about how your computer cant handle a video game because the requirements went up in a technological advancing world we live in is about as dumb as someone that cant afford to buy a computer that can handle eve and refuses to stop playing. Here's a tip. If your computer can not handle eve and you can't buy a new one, you really should be working and not playing video games.
+1 for the OP -1 for dumb broke forum trolls
