Greetings,
Lately I have been getting bored and anxious in New Eden. I have been a miner in a highsec, and now a PvPer in Null. Want do I really want? Exploration. I want to go on "walk about" thru the Cosmos. Exploring, PvE'ing as I go.
I am currently training for my Tengu which will be complete in a few weeks. I was thinking about selling most of my ships and mods...keeping a few key vessels of course, hopping into a Worm Hole and heading in with my cloaky Tengu....seeing where it will lead. Or perhaps just wandering deeper into null-sec in an attempt to find a less populated area to settle down for a few weeks or so then moving on.
Thoughts? Has anyone experienced EVE in this way? Id love to hear about it.
Be Well

Isn't roaming in a Nomad kind of boring? To slow and no guns....

Yes its eminently possible, in fact there used to be a Corp (Galatic Geographic) who did just that. Several members of that corp simply never docked - and hadn't done so for months and months.
I flew with them for a brief spell, just wandering through null sec, preying on the weak, avoiding the strong. A nomadic existence is by no means easy but it can be extremely fulfilling.

Did the same thing to a degree(exploring is fun!). I assume you know the risks out in nullsec. An interdiction and covert fit tengu will be fine

Yes... Tengus or anything you can use covertly as the asshats in 0.0 will attempt to grief you every attempt they can.
Most of which after you've popped a couple of their noob null dwellers will try to invite you into their corp/alliances to do their slave work. Resist the temptation of joining into slavery. Stay true to the nomad life.
There is boat loads of isk to be made living the nomad lifestyle. It does help if you have a couple of alts on seperate accounts so you can multi-box.
Nomad lifstyle is one of the more free and lucrative lifestyles in EVE atm as you are not required to respond to all the null carebears CTAs that protect their ass'ets of which most likely you'll never own.
Let them ALL rot I say. Nomadicity is the way to go!

Listen, a cloaky tengu for an explorer is outright suicide and much wasted ISK.
Tengu you need to train the sub systems all to atleast level 4, some to 5. Then you're looking at your core skills, this determines how fast it will die. Cause you will definitely die in a tengu. It requires near optimal skills so its worth the 30 seconds of combat you grant your life with it.
EVE has this to explore: 0.0, wormholes, monuments, scan gas clouds, scan DED sites, etc.
There is no small/large scale comets, no hidden belts, all moons are the same btw. Good luck exploring space backdrops.

I've done something like this in my Loki and it was a lot of fun for a while. Eventually it all became 'the same' though. Tons of empty systems and limited cargo on scanned down site collections.
The biggest problem that I ran across was running out of ammo more than anything else. Once I found a viable area to patrol around I had an alt park a few GSCs in the area to hold ammo and loot as well as run cargo back and forth to high-sec for market. But then again, that meant the end of the 'solo Nomad'
If I had to do it over again I would have trained a Legion to deal with the ammo issues. . I'm as mad as I can take it and I'm not going to hell anymore!
I have reassigned my money for CCP to other projects for the next 18 months... |

I WAS going to train for the Legion instead but after reading the forums I decided to go Tengu. The real deciding factor was that one of my corp mates sold me a Tengu with rigs and subsystems for 300million...couldn't pass it up. I figured I would just load my cargo bay full of missles before heading out. I'm planning on leaving my Null Sec system via Worm Hole and see where that leads.
Thanks for the Replies!

Use a pilgrim instead. No ammo to worry about, still cloaky, can run any lowsec sites, and refits easily for ganking if you get bored.
