Eve is old, it has been supported by some pretty crappy machines in the past. I've played eve on a macbook for years and only now has it started crapping the bed. It's not the mac as much as the 18 year old lazy intern who designed the client.

Besides the facts of macs being rip offs and what not...
If you want to game you'd be better off getting a windows computer every single time.
Developers don't give a **** about mac users, almost all gamers are windows users.. They don't spend the time needed to make games work on macs. So if you want to game, you need windows... or you will suffer. -

Edited by: Corin en Daire on 05/08/2011 19:58:11 I also run on a MacBook Pro (early 2011) with OS X Lion. If the "freezes" you're referring to are temporary, not lasting more than seconds, then you're in the same boat with everyone else; at all the events you listed, I also have a moment of "freezing." It's an issue with EVE's interface implementation, and it processing new information (e.g., when you undock from Jita the interface has to load the graphics for all those ships on the screen).
When warping or jumping, such as for trade runs to Jita, I keep the Map open. This reduces the "freezing" I notice from warping, jumping, docking, and undocking.
This problem exists on all platforms. Many combat vets complain about "freezing" when their ship is destroyed and they are frantically attempting to warp their pod out--another case of the interface having to process information and load graphics.
