Looks pretty simple and informative.
Looking forward to getting my hands on it when I get home from work.

Nice!
Only it seems that inputting 'default' ME/PE values (for non-owned bpo's) also changes the ME/PE values for invented t2 bpc's.

Thanks. I swear I fixed that ME/PE issue with invention but I'll take a look at it.
The default values for non-owned bpo's was by design. Do you want to over-ride your ME/PE values on BP's you own? I guess I could see a reason for that (you have 10 ME want to see how it stacks up against other items if it was researched more?) or is this just for 0 ME bp's you own? Because that would be an easy fix.

No, the default value for non-owned is ok (for me), the only thing is that it also effects T2 bpc's (at least, i didn't check if the calculations are based on for instance -4,-4, but in the ME column it shows the default value after inputting it.

Oh, read that wrong. OK, patch is up. Easy fix. Thanks for reporting.

I am not even in the industrial side of Eve, but from the screenshots it looks nice. I may have to give this a shot. Thanks for making such a program.

So I'm playing with it and it looks really cool. I especially like the shopping list. One thing I was thinking that it could really use though is to look at your inventory (corp or personal) and give you a shopping list that only includes the stuff you don't already have. Since I usually have a lot of odds and ends floating around in my hangers, it would be a lot easier if I could get a list of just what I need.
Otherwise, great tool. If I have any more feedback I'll let you know.
Cheers, Sen

I had someone tell me they ran it fine on a system with Access 64 bit. I built the whole thing to use 32 bit though since it's much easier and I really don't have any need for 64 bits. Did you have an error when you tried to install? Or was it the 32 bit engine? Let me know.

Thanks! I appreciate it. Yeah, that's on the list of course. I know what you mean. It's not incredibly hard to query assets but it's on a 6 hour refresh (used to be 24 hours). I could probably add something to the shopping list eventually. I do have some more work I want to do with that anyway. I'll keep you updated.

Ahh yeah, you'll have to install the 32 bit engine. I tried to get around this by installing the dll I need but apparently it's not possible and users have to do this.

Edited by: Shangra Mu''zgob on 05/08/2011 13:36:01 Hello, i wanted to check your app but had no success running it for this character of mine. Apparently your piece of code is unable to handle names containing apostrophe.
Message: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'CHARACTER_NAME = 'Shangra Mu'zgob''.
It would be nice to see this fixed in one of your next releases.

Looks like a good alternative to EVEmeep (that keeps crashing on my computer). I'll give it a try. But I do have a request: Is possible to make a portable version? So I can keep it in a thumbdrive or in a Dropbox folder (I use to play in a laptop and in a desktop).

Yeah, that's an easy fix. I'll get it patched tonight. Can you let me know where the error occurred? I thought I had that error corrected in all the places it would come up but guess not. Thanks

That may be difficult since I use the user folders for write access and also the access db engine. I really would like to make it portable and not deal with an installer (maybe just .Net) but it's not easy to do right now. Maybe someday I'll switch to a different DB system but that's a heavy lift.

SQLite is your friend. ;-)
I'd love to help, but my VB is crap. If it was Java or Ruby or really anything non-Microsoft, I'd pitch right in...

Yeap, I learned about SQLite about 5 minutes after I finished the major development on this. It might not be as big a deal as I thought and I'd like to move to soon. I use SQL.Net so I should be able to port it easily. I just have to build the database and my updater.
As far as my VB...well it's crap too lol. I learned VB6 and then switched careers so this is just a hobby. Finding a lot of cool stuff in vb.net but it's a process to learn new things.

Looks kewl but having issue with blue print import feature.
I have multible entries of every blueprint I own in "blueprint management/scanned corp BPs" and every time I scan corp blueprints again, 1 more entry of each blueprint will be added to the list.
Haven't found button/option to reset this list and I believe that it should be reseted in start of every new search... however for some reason this does not happen.
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your project. --- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, it should clear the list each time and that's what I intended. I'll try and get a fix up soon.

dude u're app is getting sexier and sexier...
only thing missing, auto-select decryptors... during the manufacturing calc, have it also run thru the decryptor options to see which makes the higher IPH/Profit (depending on which you tell it to select decryptor by)

Unfortunately when you attempt to install the 32 bit engine while having a 64 bit office product installed, the 32-bit engine installer aborts and tells you that you cannot do that.

i liked the option on invention to select what run BPC you are using.
It means that i can get an accurate result for the 1-run copies for ship invention.
Maybe you want to add something like 'estimated decryptor cost per invention success', as right now you get decryptor cost per invention attempt. just an idea - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - EVE: TESTING GROUNDS FOR WoD & DUST SINCE 2011 |

Edited by: Faith Sunstrider on 12/08/2011 18:41:57 I may be blind or stupid.. but.. how do I put the price in a meta item to calculate the invention value? For example, I want to calculate the "Tracking Enhancer II" invention using a "F-aQ Phase Code Tracking Subroutines" as a meta item to improve the success chances. How do I set the price of the f-aq?

You aren't either, this isn't implemented yet. I'm working on getting it in but been on travel this week for work. I'll hopefully get something soon.

Edit: Find somehow... If i write somewhere else the price with dot e.g. "4.11" and then copy and paste it :P
