Hello all I have recently returned to Eve from a very long break. Haven't played since like 05. I was a miner then and have returned to continue mining and am also getting into PI. My main questions here are for those of you that have multiple characters for PI. I am currently only doing PI on my main on 5 planets around where I am based but am looking at possibly training 2 alts up for it. My biggest concern atm is how do you move all of the good produced by your alts? Do you train to use an industrial ship on every character so that you can move the goods to a central station? Or is there a way to make it so that my main that can fly an Iteron Mark 5 can pick up all the goods from the various customs stations? Also for those of you that have multiple characters running PI do you look for individual planets for each character or is it possible to have say all three characters extracting and producing on the same planet? So far all the planets I have on my main have no other command centers on them that I can see so I am curious how this works.

Edited by: Hockston Axe on 02/08/2011 07:37:14 Depends a lot on where you are. If you're doing it in highsec then a bestower for the alts is a really fast train since lvl 1 will do. With 4 cargo II and 4 giant secure containters to expand the hold you get around 16,500m3.
If you're in highsec you'd probably want seperate planets for everybody since your extraction rates will probably be hurt by overdoing it, but it depends on your planets and what you're doing.
Private contracts, cans, or a corp hangar are pretty much the only way to shuffle the stuff around between characters.
Also are you sure there's no other CC's? You've got to rightclick 'show other ccs' and then squint a lot to see the tiny circles. You've got to click on the other CC's for it to show you the (rough) setups.

Thanks for the info, after looking more closely at my planets I have found a few other CC's on a couple of them and your right they are very hard to see. So the best way to get the goods to my main would be to get my alts into my corp and just train a lvl 1 industrial on them all and haul the goods to the station with my corp hang huh? That sure seems like a pain but I guess if I can find some more planets with good deposits on them it will be worth it. Oh and also yes I am in high sec, lowest my planets are in is currently a 0.3.

If you're planning to use multiple accounts to run your operations, I recommend using your main for extraction and your alt for production. That is, if your main can fly a covert transport. using one of those, it's easy to get your stuff from low/null sec, where the yields for P0 products are MUCH MUCH better than highsec. Basicly, you'll want to set up 6 planets with your main extracting as much of what you need for your product lines as possible, turn them into P1 products for easy storage and transport, haul these to your high sec station with corp hangar, dump them in there, then get them out with your alt, take them to a high sec planet where your alt has a colony, and turn them into higher end products. you'll only need 1 or at most 2 factory planets on your alt to be able to keep up with production from 6 planets extracting on your main though, so use the other 4 to extract more stuff in high sec and fill out the production on the 2nd factory planet with it. Once you train up your alts to be able to use covert transports, so they can venture into low sec safely, you can go and add more extraction planets. That is, if you're that keen on doing PI ;)
