I've been grinding away 4's with my sentry rigged domi, and am in a memory/perception remap focusing on drones. I hear everyone praising tech II sentries as an amazing improvement over tech I, but I'm still at drone interfacing IV.
Which skill would likely be a bigger immediate boost? Go for Sentry V or DI V first? I was thinking DI, because it will help my scouts and heavies as well, but I don't have a great gauge for how truly superior Sentry II's are.

I did Drone Interfacing 5 first, as you can't go wrong with it, It even gets you part way into a carrier.

Sentry IIs are 20% better at everything than T1s ù damage, range, optimal, falloff, tracking, HPà
Drone Interfacing V compared to IV only improves damage by 11%. ùùù ôWe want to try this thing called micro-transactions, but we don't know what it is. Can anyone explainà aw screw it, let's just do it! What could go wrong?ö ù ÇÇP |

Drone interfacing V works for ALL drones that do damage while sentry V works for 4 and allows you to use 4 more.
So, depending on which ones you most frequently use ... train that appropriate skill. .

I hadn't thought about it that way. I was looking at the 20% number on DI, but it is as you note actually a smaller proportional increase, whereas Tech II sentries will increase a lot of base stats on my drones. I probably use my sentries about 80% of the time while missioning, so I think Sentry V is the way to go.
Of course, as soon as I train it up I'll probably want to start flying a ship that doesn't effectively use sentries. Right now I have my eyes set on a Rattlesnake for lazy missioning with missile fun though.

T2 sentry to V then DI, even with the Rattler, if youÆre active pilot as they are so much better than T1. Ignore sentries and do DI to V if semi-afk pilot and go T2 heavies
Get T2 heavies straight after DI for the active pilot as a great benefit with some of the stupid distant gate missions as the sitting still with sentries is frustrating

Thank you for the help! Sentry, DI, then heavies it is. May as well make the most of this somewhat wasteful remap while I'm in it.
