I don't like to stop and not invest. Not today, not ever. The point I'm trying to make is that you should be an active contributing member of Market Discussion by investing in everything. The point I'm trying to make can be summed up in a single quote from a conversation I had with someone the other day:
Quote: I don't like to invest. I also kick small dogs for fun.
Don't be that guy. Invest everywhere. This is especially important for newbies to the forum, whose investments may not be very strong. Invest in everything. The more investments you make the better more investments you make.
Quote: I stopped investing once for three days and now I have a rash.
Never stop investing.

Oddly, this is statistically fairly good advice. If you do invest in everything on MD with no discrimination you will probably make a profit (based on a one year sample of investments) as long as you don't scale your investments to the size of the offering. Invest the same amount in everything that launches and, on past trends, you will make a bit of isk. Not much but you should come out positive.

If you were to invest in every offer that was posted on the MD you would be broke without a doubt.
RAW23 maybe you should invest with Lyris Nairn as she is from such a reputable Corp that is renowned for its scams.

Really? Without a doubt, eh? I take it you have compiled a set of data that is better than the year long sample that I used, taking in c. 90 offerings? /sarcasm
You would be surprised at how low the percentage is for scams amongst bonds that manage to launch. The problem is, perceptions get skewed by the headline grabbing scams, such as T4U, EBANK and such like. The risk of losing out on an investment in one of these huge offerings is very high but when you look at the smaller offerings the risk is very low. As long as you invested the same amount in each offering in the sample I took you would have made a couple of percent profit over the year, if I remember the figures correctly, with zero discrimination other than that the offering launched. However, if you ask how much in total got paid out in interest in comparison to how much was lost in scams the figure is massively skewed in the direction of loss (I forget the precise figure but it was something like 10-20 times greater than the profits). The moral of the story is not to invest indiscriminately but to diversify your investments and not scale them to offering size regardless of reputation. But indiscriminate investing is actually a much better strategy than ill-informed reputation-based investing. That is what will make you go broke.
