No, not because of pixel monocle for 100 $ ! No, not because of lagging in stations ! No, not because of Hilmars arrogant 'milk the customer base mail' ! No, not because of CCP's new marketing strategy ! That all, i have accept more or less. I have canceled my accounts because i cannot log out my carrier, if im sitting in a bubbled POS Force Field without get hot dropped by a titan 15 minutes after logout at warp off location and get insta killed !
Story behind : I have anchored and onlined a small POS in an unclaimed systems for finishing my 'No Quarter' Escalation. You know, where the end boss need some more damage . I have finished this escalation early in the morning and warped to a logout safe to logout, because i had to go to work. All fine
After work i loged in back to get my carrier back to 'Jan' my lowsec hub. I warped back to POS into the Force Field, loged in my alt in the Cyno Falcon and began to travel back to Jan for opening Cyno. During my travel i got a 'POS under attack Email'. Switched back to my carrier pilot to see 2 Titans, a Supercarrier, alot of drones and 2 or 3 dictors are attacking my POS and throwing bubbles so i cannot jump out. Ok, i thought "Fine, POS have strontium for 1 day and 7 hours. Im safe !" Did some real life stuff. Later on, the offender replaced the dictors by anchored bubbles. Ok, would have done the same, i guess. So, i never tried to warp away or jump during the blockade. Then afterward i loged out and called it a day for my carrier pilot. Today in the morning hours i logged in my Falcon Alt to get intel about the offenders in the system. 2 Pilots in system and bubbles still there. I logged in my Carrier Pilot and the carrier jumped right back into the force field and not to the edge of the bubbles as i expected. So bubble didn't work. "Ok" i thought. "Now or never". I accelerated my subwarp drive to slowly leave the bubbled area. "When they tackle me, i will fight this carrier to death" i thought. But nothing happend. No one appeared, no tackle, no dictor, no warp drive activation in the bubble to get aggro. After leaving the bubble i jumped my carrier to my safe spot 30 AU away from the POS. I checked the scanner ... No probes or ship on the scanner. You know, you can see probes on directional scanner now after patch. Good change btw . Ok, i logged out my carrier pilot and switch to my alt to scan the logout location. 1 Minute after log out ... Carrier is still on scanner. Ok this is a very slow aligning ship, "takes some times" , i thought. 3 Minutes after log out ... Carrier is still on scanner ! 5 Minutes after log out ... Carrier is still on scanner !! 8 Minutes after log out ... Carrier is still on scanner and a Curse too !!! 10 Minutes after log out ...Carrier is still on scanner but Curse left system 12 Minutes after log out ... Carrier is still on Scanner, Curse is back in system and 4 Combat probes on scanner !!!! 14 Minutes after log out ... Carrier is still on Scanner, 4 combat probes are still on scanner, and cyno beacon is broad visible !!! 15 Minutes after log out ... CARRIER WRECK is on scanner !!!! But hey, where is the f..... Pod of the Carrier Pilot ?? About 5 minutes later the Pod appears on the scanner !!!!!! I dont know if they got the POD too, because i was ****ed and loged off my alt, too.
Maybe i have did something wrong or i missed something. But this game mechanic sucks and is not harmonizing with my play style. So i decided to cancel Eve because i think current Eve is not supporting freelancer playstyle at high end content. All over Supercap blobs etc. (you know the flaws in 00 and mechanics).
Suggestion for CCP .... Nothing should insta kill a capital ship, because there are player who play the game as meant and invest a lot of time and isk in this kind of ship and didnt buy isk or accounts. I have lost 3 or 4 carriers in regular fights and it was a hell of fun. But this sucks.

petition, i want a reimbursement or I quit for my stupidity.
nah, oh well. if you can afford to lose a carrier more than a few times in a meaninglessness loss you can suck it up or moan about it. You might as well suck it up and not post such arbitrary crying. be more careful.

Why didn't you use the jumpdrive, or is that some kind of module that you did not fit properly? --

Guess you just learned that logging into a bubble automaticlly gives you a 15 min aggro timer.. |

Edited by: Haramir Haleths on 09/08/2011 11:25:42 You cannot use jump drive in a bubble.
I didnt petitioned that, and i wont petitioned that. And i didnt try to warp in a bubble. Read once again.
Game mechanic means. If your are in Force Field with a capital or whatever and get bubbled outside the force field you never can log off. And thats a no go !!!!
And moving the thread in Out of Pod expierence is just wrong ! I was in my Pod during this behaviour !!!!

Why you just didn't, you know, jump to another system and dock in a station? 10 minutes ought to be enough to recharge the cap for jump after warping.

if you tried to warp before you left the bubble you got aggro. if you didnt warp before you left it, you would have been long gone after 1min.
so dont warp while in a bubble. lession learned, buy a new ship and move on wiser

No, i didnt try to warp in the bubble, thats why i did make that post. For some reason you get automatically a logout timer if you are in a bubble even in the Force Field. So fact is ... you never can log out. And fitting a cloak on a carrier ? Are you crazy ? Thats why i anchored a POS to not gimp my fitting.

you dont get aggro if you just move through a bubble. you will how ever get aggro apon logging in to the bubble. as to teh cloak. well cloak woudl have saved your carrier, and at teh time you were moving the carrier, you woudl ahve been better off with a cloak than an extra drone control unit or sb.

im trying to figure out what your complaining about, but its a mystery to me.
emergency warps ignore bubbles, so when you logged in you will have landed in the pos, not on the bubble edge. small pos would have had full coverage by a couple of large bubbles, so you slowboat out and warp to a ss. why you didnt jump out then, we may never know, but chose to log in a ss instead. logged with agro and didnt log back in when you realised you were on the timer, let alone being probed.
personally, id have edged out of the pos, popped the bubbles and jumped out of system leaving the pos to burn. |

hahahaha, Little Ebay McCarriernoob.
Let me explain POS mechanics.
When you log off in a POS, your ship stays in the POS until it disappears. When you log back in, it only LOOKS like you're warping in. Now, in a small POS, I could probably understand that a large set of large bubbles could overlap the forcefield. Maybe they stop you from jumping. The real question was, why weren't you ready with your cyno alt the VERY SECOND you got clear of the POS?
But, you know, a player of your caliber, I'm sure you didn't want that carrier anyways. Working as intended. Don't blame CCP because you couldn't pull the pants off your head and learn how capital ships work. --- I'm not trying to be a turd on purpose. I'm just telling you how you are wrong.
Ok, yeah, its on purpose. |

Hmm,
I must say that for new players the 'end game' for some of them is getting the biggest ship, or the most powerful ship - which as a separate topic makes me wonder 'if CCP made a Star Wars MMO' whether they would allow players to build a Death Star?
BOT:
It must hurt on some level to find that when you finally, after all of that time and money has been spent in obtaining the ship that your heart has desired for so long to lose it, regardless of circumstance, because in EVE nothing is safe - especially caps.
