Since Incarna, I have been having a lot of trouble with drones, namely sentries. They do not focus, hit random targets, and usually look like they are on drugs. Pressing F doesnt do much, as they target the target I point for a few seconds, then switch back to random targets, not even grouping on the same target.
My drones are set as : Aggressive, Focus fire
Anyone else has got this issue? Maybe found a workaround? If not, please bump this thread so CCP can see it and fixxxeees :D Thanks and fly safe CEO, Hellfire Hounds |

I agree with this. I saw there are some bugs with that. When you want to kill someone and your drones start to kill an other one, this is not very good.

Yes, drones are very disobedient right now. I have great trouble with my sentries as well.
If you keep spamming your "engage target" hotkey constantly they do finally obey. However, many times 3-4 presses of the hotkey is not enough. You've got to keep spamming it.
CCP - not exactly proficient at this whole user interface thing. It must be where the new hires start.

Drone problems here as well. Focus fire doesn't work and when I order my drones to attack a new target, some of them will just stop attacking after a couple of seconds and come back to orbit me.

I also have the drones issues when I have it set to aggressive. They wander all over the place. I changed the setting to passive, and now they don't wander off on their own. It's a bit of a pain to select targets manually, but at least they're not off attacking stuff they shouldn't be.
I suggest setting them to passive if you are finding it unbearable until CCP sorts the issues, if they ever do.

Passive or otherwise, drones are fubar right now.
I once bumped something like a dozen drone-behaviour-related posts from the first 40 pages of this forum to put them on one page and show folks' frustration.
But then, drones started broken and have only gone downhill so it would seem that whoever's in charge at CCP doesn't give a flying f*ck. I wish turrets would start hitting random targets and/or going idle after you tell them to fire so others could see the level of our frustration. heh

It's because your 3-4 presses are inside the 'idle timer' that the drone set for itself. If its target dies, it decides to go idle in a few seconds. You can tell it to attack something else as many times as you want in the meantime and it'll pretend to, but it will go idle at the point in time it decided to. After it has gone idle (and/or cleared any other annoying timed actions), you can tell it to attack once and it will stick.
I mention 'other annoying timed actions' because there's probably at least one such related to focus fire and/or aggressive target selection.

Don't forget they haven't heard of rotating holidays in Iceland.. they pretty much just broke bits of the game and left the office.
Perhaps we should all go on vacation from the game when they do? :p
