Anyone who is investing ISK in any kind of Eve bank, Eve stock or Eve bonds deserve to lose all his ISK and is complete moron. Eve lacks any accountability - this alone makes any investment idiotic as nothing prevents the fund owner to pack his ISK and run away, then simply buy another char on the bazaar.

There are two questions that I ask myself when I see an entity like Phaser Inc.
1) If they are so successful, why do they need my money?
2) If they are so successful, why would they be willing to pay interest on my investment when they could instead just wait for their own business to give them the money they need?
There are times when you can answer the above two questions satisfactorily. But Phaser Inc. never answered these two, key questions.
That being said, it IS possible for the "customers" to make a lot of money off of ponzi schemes. The trick is that you have to get in early, and pull out before it's too late. ----------

Yeah, exactly, that's precisely what makes EVE un-real - i.e. a game. Everyone's anonymous. The only people who trust each other in EVE are rl friends - and even then, not always
OTOH, this circumstance also makes it the case that someone who is trustworthy in the game, and doesn't abuse their anonymity could become famous for that in-game.
But then they might still be tempted at some point later on *****

It is funny and pathetic when someone who doesnÆt know how to convert ISK to real money is attacking another in order to learn about investing...
And you don't understand the point of my opinion.
If CCP donÆt intervene in this case like ôcourtö we can expect how crime will be raising in this community. More scam - more spam - because ALL IS ALLOWED!
No, you can't convert ISK to $$ (if you follow the Eve's EULA and stuff), all you can do is SAVE MONEY, you do not have more money in your pocket from ISK, you just spend less.

I know it was a scam from the beginning since it was so clear, but not to all apparently :)
So it was just a bet about when to retire my isk before the scam day, like any hazard games, and I win about 500.000.000 isk
Thank you Phaser, this was the best pvp experience ever, good job!! :-)

To those who got scammed....
Too bad for you. you won't get anything back.
However, if you want to **** with these guys here's what you do.
If you're American, write a letter to the FBI's internet investigations unit. Why you ask? Well there's several reasons.
1) they opened a public domain that required you to create an account that also required personal information. Collecting personal information under false pretenses is a crime. (even over the internet) 2) It's obvious from their letter that they intended all along to use this domain to commit fraud (of a type) 3) If they live in North America. they've committed digital fraud. 4) The more of you that file a complaint with the FBI the better chance you all have of getting them to investigate this issue to see if that domain was indeed registered by an American citizen. 5) you will never "get your isk back" but however if this gets looked into and acted upon these guys won't be able to so much as power up a computer for the next 10-20 years.
Digital items in EVE are inherently the property of CCP. Even your character belongs to CCP. Your personal information however is yours. They collected and maintained a database of that personal info with the intent to mislead people. That's a crime.
Enjoy and good luck (and dear god I can't believe people actually fell for this)

I sent an alt 100m ISK and used it to invest when these guys first started figuring if it was a scam I could afford to lose. I was received my first 2 interest payments then let the alt's account go inactive. I just recently reactivated the alt and it had still been getting payments so I had isk in the wallet when (before the initial transfer) I had only a little over 1m. I was considering withdrawing my investment when this is announced. Of course I lost the 100m ISK but I have lost more losing a ships or even simply buying fitting and trying ships I later sold everything for less than I paid because I did not like it.
The point is I gambled on something and lost in a game. But lets look at what I lost and that is ISK. I took 100M ISK that was simply sitting in my wallet doing nothing and put it into a gamble to make more ISK. Every time I undock my Hulk or worse yet Orca I do the same. I made some ISK in interest same as when I mine ore and sell it. Then I lost my initial investment same as if my ship got ganked. Overall I actually lost less investing than I would have having set up to mine and within a few minutes been ganked. Either way I lost ISK playing my game the way I wanted to so I am not mad things did not work out as planned. Better luck next time(or not).
Now let's take a look at the reason this happened and why folks with some unneeded ISK lying around invested in this as well as sometimes other schemes (say loaning it to someone you know in game and then not getting paid back). Keep in mind I am big into ISK for nothing. I do PI for the easy ISK and play ER games like the lottery and others where you do nothing but risk/donate ISK for a chance at a larger return. Had the investment been legit and worked out over time I could have gotten a good return on my initial investment for doing nothing. However I can't make isk missioning, manufacturing, buying and selling, or mining without a lot of time invested at least in research of how/where to make the most ISK if not actual time spent doing something. Now this is not to say I don't do these things (at least some of them) but overall if there is potential to make say 100m isk by spending 5m or simply lose the 5m while doing nothing I see it a risk worth taking. Frequently you lose but sometimes you gain and that to me is a big part of playing Eve and in fact is how I enjoy playing. It may not be how you play or what you would do but the simply fact I don't have to do the same as everyone else is a big reason I play.

Isk in the wallet doing nothing has more value then in the hands of someone else. It won't double, tripple, and borrow 17m. Its a safe secure deposit box, so long as you don't stupidly fall for margin scans, read local contracts, double another person's wallet as they "leave" eve, pay corp security desposits, or buy way out priced officer mods for your ship you won't loose. Its nice to always have that isk there for when you really need it, like a PVP binge or buying a bunch of PLEX to fund an alt.

o/ Hope everyone enjoyed their Phaser Inc experience. First off, thank you for all the nice ISK, I'm sure my partner and I will give it a nice home. Everything is explained on the website, so making a thread post is really silly.
If your mad (umadbrah), attempt to do something in game about it. Otherwise your ranting and complaining is moot. EVE is a game; get over it, we'll do it again if we want. Later. o/

Now, I'm not an American citizen... But I doubt that stealing virtual money in a MMORPG is a federal crime in the US.
I'm amazed by the number of people who have given away their ISK... I'm amazed... And jealous. Do you have any proof of the amount of ISK and contributers?
It's not about stealing virtual money. Perhaps you need to read a little more, or learn to read. Let me break it down for you
Within EVE online, CCP are the ones in charge. if they say it's allowed then it's allowed within the realm of New Eden. Once you enter the public domain ( creating a website with intent to commit fraud) It becomes something different. If you mislead people and gather and maintain a database of personal information without the proper licensing and contractual agreements (notice how every website you join that collects personal information has you accept thier own version of agreements?) Then you're committing fraud.
It doesn't matter what gets stolen, it's called "Intent" (go look it up) The public domain is a different world, one called "the real world" with real consequences. tell you what, If you don't think this is real file a complaint with the FBI (if you're American) and they will tell you to go jump off a cliff (in laymen terms)
Your complaint cannot be about items in EVE (which CCP owns) it has to be about "The gathering of personal information with the intent to commit fraud using a public domain." (word it exactly like that) And then sit back and wait and see what they say.
and no, I didn't watch something on TV... I spent a couple years studying law. Hated it so tried something else.
