Edited by: fo rumalt on 13/08/2011 18:06:21 ive had multiple recruitment threads posted in the last few months but all the offers i get are just OK. Am I looking for a corp that doesnt exist? all im looking for is a lowsec pirate corp that operates in the AU/EU/UK tz that doesnt FAIL or dock up when a handful of neuts come into the system.
I have 35m sp all in subcaps as i found capitals to be quite boring
this might not be the correct area of the forum to pos this question but im tired of all the recruiters spamming the same **** over and over

Ignore the trolls, 35m sp is more than adequate
You would be scrutinised more on your PVP activity than any skillpoints.
There's good pirate corps out there but it really depends what you are looking for. Larger fleet operations by the sounds of it? Consider Heretic Army.

I'd strongly advise against that, unless 'large fleet' means about 8-10 guys for you.

The Tuskers are hands down one of the best piracy corporations in the game. Other corps that come to mind... Back to yarr, Douchingtons, Matari Exodus (not really pirate, but meh)

I'm actually curious as well, bane and heretics are pretty fail despite all their kb related boasts. A good pirate can fight outnumbered and win often enough to still turn a profit off it all. Other than myself, I haven't seen anyone pull that off in the past year. It's certainly harder than it used to be, but the quality of the pirates I see has really decreased over the years too. Players seem too obsessed with kb stats rather than the actual pirating part (killing is a last resort). I can't say I've had any real encounters with tuskeers. They have a good reputation so I guess that's something. Can't say from experience though.

That's probably because they spend most of their time active in-game rather than trying to convince everyone how pro they are (or crying about game mechanics) on the forums.

Yeah Heretics usually run solo to small gang, not really any larger fleets.

Not sure if you are serious..
Granted I haven't had much contact with the tics in a while, but solo and small gang were two things that didn't fit into the equation in regard to them.
People mention Tuskers, but they seem to be much like any others as they like to gank stuff they can kill easy, but run from anything that is a close fight. I will say that I have at least seen them out soloing some what often in frigs and at least they aren't just another ****ty gate camping corp.
I think for the most part piracy as many of us might like to see it, is for the most part dead in low sec. What is left is just gate/station humpers that will typically run from actual fights.
I think it's more a product of what low sec has become being there isn't a lot of reason for anyone to be there for anything but PVP, so juicy targets that might feed real pies are far and too few between.
I's say old school piracy is done mostly by soloers, or very small gangs but I can't say there are really any good pirate corps these days. Most so called pirate corps are just PVP corps that have bad sec status.

Edited by: W0wbagger on 14/08/2011 12:58:17 Yep do you mean piracy or lowsec pvp?
By and large, pirate corps are in it for the isk and ransoms - not mails and not "goodfights" as such. If you want lowsec pvp there are lots around but its about fights and killmails more than the isk.
If you want piracy then as itsme said - Tuskers are probably the best, there's also blood money cartel, veto (when they come back to lowsec) and the bastards. If you want fleet pvp and goodfights then join fw so we can shoot you.

Well, I was a "pirate" before I knew what it was. Then I realized, I wasn't a really good pirate. The greatest pirate and a very good pvp'er, in my mind, was Skira Ranos. He definitely was the first to defined what it ment to be a pirate. Before I could see the difference but, couldn't quantify it before a conversation I had with him.
There is a difference between a pvp'er and a pirate. There are many corporations that are awesome pirates, but terrible pvp'ers. Heretics are one of them (terrible).
I realized I was a fail pirate pretty early, because I didn't care about efficiency. Although it was high and I did make alot of isk, purely off pvp. Funny enough though, pirate corporations tend to produce most of the best pilots and pvp corporations ingame. In the end, most leave piracy behind (for the most part) while keeping the - 10.0 security status. Anyways, piracy corporations are a good place to start for a inspiring pvp'er to grow. Just know that piracy has more to do with making isk threw pvp, ransoms and what not. Less to do with being very good @ pvp.

Yeah actually most of our kills from the past couple months have 1-3 people on the kill. Even our Academy pilots are out soloing.
As for piracy, we get a lot of successful ransoms that help fund the Corp. In fact, we had a 500mil ransom just the other day =]
Are we the best pirate Corp in this video game? Who gives a fukk? We have fun, **** ppl off, and make money in the process.

The only thing Heretics solo are haulers and cyno frigates (hahaha). 3 pilot fleets to GANK 1 combat frigate. Once in awhile they may deem themselves ready to lose a ship and 1 v 1 a frigate.
(I remember not to long ago when I was told the Heretics left Amamake. I laughed! They wont be gone for long.) The only time your members solo is within a system, with many safe spots, 10 people in local who're from your corp and in 1 system. Anytime you lose, make a effort to warn members not to engage that pilot, corporation or alliance again.
Not surprised most of your members are still fooling around in Amamake. There are only 2 systems I know of that are like Amamake and are in no way as active. By that I mean gate camping those systems, provide little to no kills. Fact you're responding to comments made on this thread shows how butt hurt you are = )
****ing on the Heretics is a pastime for me. Mind you, I've flown with your members before. There have been 2 pilots of note to ever grow within your corporation I respect, but dont kid yourself with talk about solo and small ganging.
If H8ters H8, then let them H8 and watch the money pile up. (clearly I'm a h8ter) Keep doing your thang!

This is the essence of things. The truth is, there are more than a few corps out there we Tuskers are scared of. They have more sp than we do, they can fly better ships than we do, they have more ISK than we do, they understand PVP tactics and strategy better than we do, etc. (I would not bet on the Tuskers in a head-to-head clash with VETO, PODLA, or Pandemic Legion, for example, though we'll happily gank their strays if we can.) We still have fun. If someone enjoys mining, they should mine. If someone enjoys some form of game play that someone else says isn't "really" piracy, then they should play the game the way that makes it fun for them, even if it's not "piracy." When looking for a corp, find something that's a good match for you--in terms of activity, style, time zone, numbers, etc.--and enjoy! And don't worry if someone hasn't yet gotten the memo that solo PVP is dead or that lowsec sucks.

Proud Tusker here, and I'm obviously biased towards my corp, although everything Ka Jolo has said about or place in the food chain is true. We are not "heavy hitters" the way groups like Pandemic Legion are; we focus on solo and small gang work, normally in frigates, some times in battle cruisers.
However, I'm really posting to put in a good word for Heretic Army, who seem to be taking some undeserved criticism.
HA is on campaign in Verge Vendor, which has been my only experience of flying against them. While they are clearly not solo pilots the way Tuskers are, I've never felt blobbed by them either; they are simply a corp with a small gang ethos.
I've blogged about some of our fights, so I'll let people make up their own minds.

You should listen Vrabac....
Btw piracy is Low sec and Low sec ISN'T Frigates (sentry guns...)
So you can directly no read all threads above talking about Frigates stuffs.
Try Zawa or Purple Helmet Warriors, if you want nice fights in low sec...
Have fun

im not really into solo ganking i like flying with a group of 10 pilots(2 ecm 2-3 logi rest dps) at max 50 after that it gets boring i like to think that i might lose my ship theres nothing better then PVP shakes..... i have done many aspects of the game such as 0.0 WH and FW and yet i always end up back in lowsec. good fleet comps ECM logi is always a plus not just a big blob of drakes cuz people dont want to lose isk
