Hi there.
As a self confessed mission bear I'm fully maxed out SP wise for the Paladin. But after so many years I'm getting a little bored looking at the same hull.
I'm also skilled for the Loki and Legion but I've never owned one.
So I'm just looking for something a little different and perhaps a little more efficient at some missions, the Score for example.
I was leaning more toward the the Legion, or maybe an Abso personally just purely because Crystals are easier to manage ammo wise and don't require stocking up on 10k rounds before each mission.
Anyone got any recommendations, experience or fits for either of these please.
Much appreciated ..

Afaik for lvl 4s only the HML Tengu is efficient enough to come close to a decent missioning T1 BS (aka good skilled Domi, Raven or Mael etc).
I think the micromanagement required for keeping range etc with most close range T3s (and usually that's the case with Legions and Lokis) is overwhelming. The arguement about being challenged in a mission, and doing lvl 3-4s with AFs etc is not compatible with my way of thinking -> aka making money efficiently for a given amount of time.
If you want something with straight out speed to cover large distances, you can tweak your Paladin to fit an AB, or if you which investing time into a new platform, go for a Macha or a Tengu, both of which can hit almost 2x the speed the paladin does with AB, yet do not lose too much @ DPS projection.
You will need good shield skills for both, and good missile skills in addition for the Tengu...the macha needs a ton of time for BS @ V skills etc, but its gorgeous and effective once you are there.
That's if you want to do stuff as good or better...if you want to do stuff simply in another way, there are a ton of ships that can do it.

Edited by: Uol Kafshaz on 14/08/2011 19:23:30 All this noise about micro management is nonsense. I use a Legion in some lvl 4 missions because its just more efficient than my mission BS. Pick a non collide structure close to the rats and orbit it at 10k, done. There is no management of range A Legion with Scorch and two tracking comps with range scripts has an optimal of 50k. Switch to conflag or multi for close in targets and swap out the scripts for tracking if you failed to sniper the frigs before they got to close.
Managing missles if anything requires more micro management.

lolwat?
Frig is far? Press F1. Frig is near? Press F1. BS far? Press F1. HAC near? Press F1.
With the right rigs on a Tengu, you never even need to swap missile types, just Scourge Fury everything down.

But you do have to time cycling off the launchers to avoid waisting missles on ships that are at range, that is micro managing. Also, even with rigor rigs on a tengu youre still taking more than one volley on many frigs with furys.
There is no doubt that if you are counting earning potential as part of being efficient, lasers are more economical, yes crystals eventually break but are cheaper in the long run then running a missle boat.

Wasting missiles? You're flying a Tengu and you're worried about wasting missiles?

I believe it's more of a matter of wasting DPS than actually wasting the ammunition. Shooting at empty space doesn't exactly contribute much toward completing your objective, no matter the activity.
Also, what's up with the quote pyramid? The guy posted immediately above you. We don't need a quote to remind us what he said when you're posting right after.
