I recently X-trained from Amarr to Minmatar, while looking into long term plans I was looking up Stealth bombers.
I've read on the forums that if you train Covert Ops 5, you get torpedo damage bonus...but only to your race damage type.
While checking Covert Ops ingame, I couldn't find any information on this claim.
Could anyone fill me in?
As an Amarr X-training to Minmatar, will this effect the Hound? If (in theory) I trained up each race frig 5...you could fly each race's Stealth Bomber ship w/o any ill effect?
Thanks for any info

Each races bomber gets a bonus to its races damage. The race of the pilot doesn't matter ever.

This cannot be quoted enough times.
The ONLY (literally, ONLY) thing that your character's race affects is what skills you start with (which doesn't matter really, since you can train any of them), and what you look like. You can even run the other race's tutorial missions if you like. ---------------

I'd like to chip in, and say that crosstraining a couple of different bombers (if you like flying them) is a good thing to do. Consider that different scenarios will possibly require different damage types (and certain fits only fit on certain bombers) so it is well worth while. All the support skills are the same, so you only need to tick off FrigV for each race that you want to unlock.
This will also open up that factions assault frigs, covops, EAFs, etc. -------

To put it into perspective thats about 6 days if you have lousy implants and not optimal remap. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

also keep in mind in a fleet you will all be using the same dmage type or stagger your bombing runs.
If most people fly purifiers and do EM dmg you may be doing EM dmg in your hound just to prevent blowing up there bombs. so having a variety is nice. ______ Hello WoW players. Look at your toon, now back to me. Sadly it isn't me, but if it wasn't simplistic pre scripted linear mono dimensional game you could look like me. I'm in a Paladin |

Don't forget that choices at character creation also affect your NPC corp assignment (should you find yourself not in a player corp at some point), as well as many of the stations on the list for where you can move your medical clone (of course, these are only in addition to stations your corp has offices at, and your current station) but in terms of skills or bonuses, your race is irrelevant. --- ISD IonCharge Lt.
