7 mil is about the highest I've seen. I don't use labslots because that crap licks to have to babysit. _ _ How many pilots does it take to wire a Flux Capacitor? 3, 1 to wire it and 2 to talk about how the old one was better. |

high prices mean lots of people want the station, so either go somewhere else or think of the poor people who can't set up a base because your using the slots?

Got some upto 8 here.. just pay it.. if people can't afford to pay then prices will go down.. if you have to keep paying then it must be worth that much. _________________________________________________________

My corp still has offices that only cost 10k. Those systems are a bit off route but not bad in any way. Most of our offices cost a few 100k and only one is more than 5 mil. And we're gonna drop that one soon as we don't use it much. I really don't see a problem here. You want a shiny office in a hotspot system? Then pay for it. Otherwise just move on a few systems.

I applaud CCP for their common sense fix to office/lab/factory hoarding.
It is taking time, but the solution is working. Factories are finally free of the grip of the hoarders, offices are becoming free, and Labs will follow. Wallets and/or wills WILL break at some point.
While office and labs will almost certainly stay high priced in hub system, that is appropriate. Valuable real estate SHOULD cost more.
And for the record, I abandoned the office I had in Niyabainen due to high rent. I simply did not do enough business there to justify the expense.

Look harder for cheaper offices, they are there. They tend to be in the out of the way systems...

But its only every month right? Unless thats changed.
So you can either.
A: Pay for it, its only about 1 lv 4 mission a week. B: Not pay for it and find an out of the way system/station to do your stuff. C: Reilize that it really isn;t that much isk, and is not a lot to pay even for a 'small guy' D: Whine on the forums

Edited by: Zyrla Bladestorm on 04/03/2005 04:56:48 My understanding is that if there are 0-1 unused offices/labs/factorys, the price rises 5% per (week?). 2 free offices/labs/factorys and the prices remain the same. 3+ offices/labs factorys free and the price will drop 5% that week
That way the prices stabilize themselves at whatever people are willing to pay for that location.
Ok so the "big guys" will be able to afford to keep there offices in key locations for a good long time to come, but those corps that have hundreds of offices merely because they could rent them for next to free in the past (I know someone who had it as a hobby heh) are now unrenting the ones they aren't actually using to free up space, so the system is working and freeing up space for the "little guys" :) . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.

17.5m in ROIR. 15m in X-7OMU (These are Pure Blind locations btw) NPC Stations located a small way into 0.0
Funnily enough, Serpentis Prime is about the same. I wonder what Yulai and Luminaire etc are like. Nonni/Jita Area is roughly 15-20 range depending on the station of course.
Doesn't come to much in the grander scheme of things.
That's 300-800k a day (9m Rental to 20m or so, just rough numbers). Corp-wide. For what you get, even at the most basic level (Fittings, shared hangars) we're actually approaching something sensible now.
A 2-Man, 4-week-old Corp can make 250k/Person a day even when they are the "little guys" - With not a great deal of trouble. At all. AAAND, this is based on an 18m Office, which new guys wouldn't want to be renting anyways. Knock it down to say, a 10m office and that's 330k/day Corpwide, entirely within reach of the little guy.
I fear some of you just see the big initial bill/returning monthly bill and freak out a bit. Office Rentals last a LONG time, a full month. You have to appreciate that perspective.
(Someone tell me if I'm being out of touch with what it's like being a new player in Eve. To me, the required ISK, on a daily basis, with a month or so of getting your bearings, basic skills trained up, and I think it's entirely plausible.)
Just work smart, learn quick, and spend wisely.
-- On a related tangent.
My Corp used to have almost 40 offices. Why? Because they were so stupidly cheap to rent, and keep. It only made sense NOT to grab up real estate. And look, I know doing so hurt the Newer players, but I too was a new player one time, and I survived. More importantly however, was that it was in a Corp's self interest to have Offices in disparate locations, especially if they were not tied to one Region.
Now, we have only the offices we need. Having such a stack of them was untenable, and undesirable. It WAS hurting new guys trying to find offices. Now they should be able to find them easier (Give it some more time on that too) but will have to, like all corps, think wisely about the investment.
It's added Depth to Offices tbh, at least personally speaking. You scale down, your offices have real meaning, instead of being just one of the countless many. And you have to be smart in what ones you hold on to, what ones you let go. It's worth your time if money is tight, scouting nearby systems with cheaper rentals and relocating etc. All of that, is depth. :) Show Your Support For Kaleigh Doyle.

0 unrented - Price goes up. 1 unrented - Price stays the same 2 unrented - Price goes down.
Want to lower your rent? War dec everyone else who uses your station and force them to leave.

CCP knows that when people started whining at the foruns the system is on a verge of success.
People whine about the price = System is working.
Good job CCP, but don't forget that a lab shortage needs to get monitorized, because it can happen that there are really few Labs for the amount of active players, and, on that scenario the prices will rise into oblivion. Only very rich corps would have access to them then.
Meanwhile keep squizing and see if the price system works. Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

I've been watching my office prices rise steadily over time. Last night I got a bill for 6.25M for an office. Well enough is enough I'll just drop it. The problem is not the office in Yulai. It's actually one of my cheaper offices, but the ones in the outlying areas which are overpriced.

It works ... this office price thing is an example of a good CCP fix. Grats to whichever dev thought it up. Makes the station office market properly responsive to supply and demand.

Yep I totally agree. Frequent insurance claimers should get hosed. And it should be much much cheaper to insure for empire than it is to insure for 0.0 (and tbh it shouldn't even be possible to get insurance for the frontier).
