Having spent alot of time in large fleets and alliances before burning myself out, most of my pvp know how was based around large fleet engagement either as a grunt or running the fleet.
I am now in a much better place, a small corp which is made up of long term out of game friends and my wife, numbers are between 4-10 for pvp fleets roughly 60% of that is people with only 2 months of experience in eve but they have been eager to learn all the basics (a wonderful change from fcing jaded people), we don't play the isk/hour game as all the game costs are covered by a couple of people and we end up just as hyper and laughing our ass of when we loose as when we win, the act of actually engagine an enemy is what drives us. costs and efficiency be damned.
So where we stand is every member loves eve and is totally gaga on pvp and have the basics from decloaking/gatecamps/battlecoms/fighting.
What I need advice on is the following
Ideas for small fleets for 0.0 advice for good places to get combat where the oponents won't automatically bring out a 10:1 fleet against you.
At the moment we field three different fleet types, firstly a sniping camp based around zealots/canes a suicide roam which is pure t1 fit ruptures/caracals/drakes/canes/myrms (with me in a flycatcher to provide tackle) and a more "we may get these ships home this time" T2 fit fleet.
We are looking for fun ideas from anyone willing to give them.

the NPC nullsec regions Curse and Great Wildlands are great areas for small gang pvp.
a cloaky interdictor with a falcon and other recons with a scout on the other side of the camped gate are a blast.
a bomber gang off a drag bubble also fun.
Black Ops gangs are usually pretty dull but when you pull it off it is wonderful.

I just want to congratulate all of you for holding this attitude. It reminds me of what used to be a more populist attitude and is exactly how I feel myself.
I know it's not for everyone but I really wish more people would embrace this style of play. Death or Glory! Killboards be damned its all about getting the pew pew and enjoying the challenges that face you, not assessing the % chance of survival.

Yep, I came back yesterday to TS after dinner and two members were laughing so hard the couldn't even give me a battle report.
Seems a call came in by the area intel that a dread had been jumped so both of em run off to intercept in there cyclone and drake, the dread was dead when they got there but they saw a hostile cyno pop and warped into it:)

hehe who cares about a lost ship when the guys can't stop talking a mile a minute how they warped into a bad place.

Good to see others taking this route. I'm in a corp with four other real-life friends. We've played for about a year and are in the process of moving from carebearland to low/null and PVP.
Since we're on the subject of small gangs, any advice for year-old characters looking to get started as a gang?

tackle, ecm, dps.
As a small gang you are gonna be out numbered in most fights ECM especially the Falcon let's you fight far above your weight.
