Well, a few months back i tripped over my plantronics gamecom bla bla and managed to rip the mic cord out of it. i liked these but id rather venture off onto something new, preferably with a USB connection and better sound quality.
Anyone have any suggestions for decent headset for under 100 bucks? Looking for good sound quality for music and games

I haven't check recently on the price, but I think the Logitech G35s have dropped to about that price. If you can get them, they are worth every cent. They are what I use, and I've had them for ages. -------------------------------- Fleet Admiral, Fleet Coordination Coalition |

DEPENDS
Do you plan on listening to music?
Do you only need to hear the basics?
...Or do you want to hear the sexy bass in your FC's voice as he's telling you you're doing it wrong?

got the steelseries siberia v2 myself and can't complain. Mic slides away inside as well so you don't look quite such a dork when you don't need to

ROCCAT Kave 5.1
Sounds great, very clear 3D position, analog 5.1 audio input, USB for power, not to heavy. Comfy over-ear cushions, nifty mic boom, in-line audio control for all speaker channels.
MSRP: Ç79.95, you can probably find it on Newegg or so for a similar price in dollars.

Just picked up a pair of Razer Carcharias and they are the most amazing headset I've ever owned. They aren't bassy so if that's your thing then pass on them. That said they are very clear and produce great clear sound whether gaming or on comms. They are also the lightest and most comfortable headset I have ever owned. I can wear these for hours and not have a headache or my ears sore from getting clamped on. Can't say enough good things about them.

Threads like these always end up being people justifying their own choice, whether it is a bad one or not
Just do what I do and do some research, buy a pair of headphones that matches your needs and your budget.
I once paid attention to what people were saying in a thread and ended up with a terrible TN-panel screen. Because it "supposedly" was awesome. Except it wasn't.
Don't do it.

I need some new headphones as well. The "gaming" one I got a few months back suck big time.
Any suggestions? Need to be good for listening to music, and need to have a mic as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Buy a set of HiFi-headphones 2. Buy a HiFi-microphone and a stand
Don't bother with ****ty combined headsets.

Something from Sennheiser within your price range for headphones, and any hifi-mic within your budget pretty much.
